The Artist
Luigi Carlo was born in Italy, and he has always had an interest in art. He began drawing and painting at the age of 10. Luigi studied art at school, and he has continued to study and explore art as a self-taught artist, always experimenting novel techniques and compositions. Luigi has developed his personal style, and his artwork is predominately figurative that conveys the emotion and evokes the vibrancy of the subject. In his artwork he communicates in a pictorial manner the beauty of the human figure and nature, using his ability to capture their essence in a creative art setting. Luigi has done numerous exhibitions both in England and Italy, and he gained a good recognition as a fine artist. Luigi’s artwork was selected and is featured in the international catalogue of modern art.
Portrait Painting Luigi uses classical technique to express the character and atmosphere of his portraits in modern and contemporary settings. He captures the essence of the surroundings and background, and combines them with precisely calculated, individual gestures and expressions to convey subject’s essence and qualities. The evocative impact of his portraits is due largely to the three-dimensionality plus the pictorial artistry of depicting harmoniously light, shadow and colour, which causes the subject to stand out as it does. In his portraits is amply apparent the power of artistic imagination and painterly skills.
