interview with DANIA JUSTICE: FINE: Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where were you born, what was your hometown like, how big was your family, etc.? I grew up in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in a family with myself and 3 brothers. I grew up in a very family centered area where every weekend we always had friends over or we were over at other homes. It was great! FINE: Where else have you lived in the US or the world? I went to college at Pepperdine in Malibu, California and really enjoyed the West Coast. Once I was with Winston, we lived in Philadelphia, Indianapolis, Denver and now Naples, FL. We moved a lot in Philadelphia but were always downtown in the city. FINE: When did you meet Winston? I met Winston at a Super Bowl party in Detroit in 2006. I was in Law School in Jacksonville, FL at the time, but being from Michigan and having Detroit host the Super Bowl, I went back with some of my girlfriends for the weekend. That year Winston had just declared his eligibility for the NFL Draft. His agent, Leigh Steinberg, had a Super Bowl party every year and I was at that party. Winston was there as well and we ended up meeting and talking. He was from California and I went to Pepperdine, so we kept in touch after that party. I would go back to California to see my friends and we would see each other. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles and moved there. The rest is history! FINE: When did you guys start your family? He was drafted in 2006 to the Philadelphia Eagles. We were married the next year and then had our son the next year. We moved just about

every year in Philly! Our first place was a 3 bedroom when it was just the two of us. Then we decided to downsize to a loft downtown. Then we had our son and we needed more space, so we moved. We literally moved every year and looked at a lot of homes! We now have 3 children and are in Naples! FINE: What brought you to Naples and how do you like living here full time now? I have been coming to Naples since I was a child with my parents. When I was in Middle School, my parents had a second home here in Naples, so I have been coming here for about 20 years. When I was in college, they moved here full time. My brothers actually went to high school here. We really like living here full time! We feel that the family atmosphere and importance of family is a priority here, and we really like that!

FINE: Naples has a lot of great restaurants and shops, what are some of your favorites? We really like Lamoraga in Park Shore, and the Sushi at the Ritz-Carlton, it’s the very best sushi in town! FINE: What are some of your favorite vacation spots? We like going over to Miami for short trips. We also like California and Hawaii. We had a really great trip to Bali where we stayed at the St. Regis – it was a fantastic vacation! FINE: What are some activities that you like to do here - just you guys? We really enjoy doing cross-fit together. We like trying all of the restaurants here and we love to travel! We also enjoy taking short trips to Miami and other fun places. We have also spent the last two years together in an Executive program at George Washington University getting our MBA degree. We have traveled all over the country together taking classes in many different cities to get our masters degrees.

interview with WINSTON JUSTICE FINE: Tell us a little bit about your background and how you first got into football? I grew up in Long Beach, CA and played a lot of basketball. However, I lived in a big football town without knowing it. I lived in the Long Beach Poly district and ended up going to high school there. They were a huge football school that actually had a lot of athletes go to the NFL. I was asked to play as a Freshman but I kept saying no. They kept asking me to play and I finally said I would play - that was after their camp and the first 3 games of my Junior year. They asked me what position I wanted to play and I said I didn’t know, I never really played football. I ended up playing outside linebacker and also point guard.

J U S T I C E

FINE: Were you a big guy in high school? Did you lift weights in high school? By the end of my Junior year I was 6’3” and 250 lbs. I never really lifted weights in High School; we didn’t have a weight room at the school. I didn’t really start lifting weights until college. FINE: How did you get noticed or seen by the Scouts? Between my Junior and Senior year in High School, there was a Nike Combine that 5 of my teammates were going to that summer, by invitation. They were highly sought after recruits. I wanted to go as well so one of my teammates gave me the Nike guy’s number and I called him to ask him if I could go to the combine? I guess someone had cancelled so they gave me a pass to get in. I ended up breaking every record at that event! After that combine I started getting scholarship offers. That’s when I knew that I could probably go to college and really do something with this. FINE: What was a typical week like being part of an NFL team, Monday through Friday, after the game on Sunday? After the game on Sunday, Monday was not typically a heavy day, but here was the basic schedule for the week: Monday: Get in around 9 am. Get in the cold tub/hot tub first and then lift weights with the team around 10 AM. We would have film at 12 noon which would last until around 2:30 – 3, and then we would leave and go back with our families. They have breakfast and lunch there as well. Tuesday: Tuesday was pretty much a day off. Personally, I worked every day so I would go in and get an extra lift in, watch some film, etc. Wednesday – Thursday: These were work days! Get in around 6 AM, go to the cold tub/hot tubs, and then have a team meeting at 7:30 AM. We would then do “Walk Throughs” around 10:30 AM which would last about 45 minutes. Then we would come in and change into uniform and pads.


Practice was from 11:30-1:30 PM, usually a 2 hour practice. We would then come in and shower, have lunch, and then go back to meetings for film or game prep from 4-6 PM, and then go home. So, basically it’s from 6am-6pm! Friday: The same, but we would get home earlier, by about 4 PM. Saturday: Saturday was a walk through day for the plays and a travel day. FINE: What is a walk through? Walk Through just means that you walk through the plays, dressed but no pads. FINE: What is your preparation for Sunday and for the different teams/players that you would be facing? If the game was a late game on Sunday, I try to sleep all day and pretend that it’s a morning game! When I was with the Eagles and we would be facing the Cowboys for example, that whole week before the game I would be focused on preparing for DeMarcus Ware. He was rare because he has so many different types moves; he could bull rush or speed rush you. So, I had to prepare for everything with him. When we would play the Giants, I would prepare all week for Justin Tuck. He basically had a straight power move, so I practiced for that. I played against the Colts one time and faced Mathis. He is known for all of his spin moves, which were very effective. I had to prepare for those and how to stop him from getting to my quarterback! FINE: How tired are you from playing all 4 quarters of a game? I am not that tired physically after a game, it is more mental exhaustion than physical. Don’t get me wrong, I am still physically tired, but the mental aspect of professional football is more intense! In college, there were always great players and average players on every team. In the pros, however, everyone is extremely good and is prepared for each game. Even the 2nd and 3rd string guys; they are all good. I could not let up even for a second during each game, or my opponent would take advantage of that. So, the tired feeling after a game is more from the mental side of it than the physical side. FINE: Is there a lot of trash talk going on during the game, the plays? Yes, definitely, but not usually before or during each play. That happens after the plays and after the ball is down. FINE: Where is home here in town and what made you select that neighborhood? Right now we are in Tiburon and we really like it here. We selected it because the neighborhood was nice and close to a lot of activities here in town, and it was a safe community. Before this house we were in Talis Park. We really like a lot of different places here and are always looking at different areas. We also really like Old Naples, Park Shore/Moorings and the Mercato area – we like to be able to walk to different restaurants and shops. FINE: Naples has a lot of great restaurants, what are some of your favorites? I have eaten at a lot of great restaurants in my life, but the absolute best steak I have ever had was here in Naples at The Continental down on 3rd Street. I ordered the NY Strip Steak. It was so good, that I actually stood up and started clapping in the restaurant!

We feel that the family atmosphere and importance of family is a priority here, and we really like that!

FINE: Are you involved in any business ventures locally or elsewhere? We have a coffee business in Philadelphia called Elixr Coffee Shop that we opened with Dania’s brother. It is a great business and we are enjoying being a part of that. We also have a Roasting Company that roasts our own coffee beans. We are currently supplying 23 shops and restaurants in Philadelphia with our coffee beans. Locally, I am interested in real estate and residential construction. I like the building side of real estate! Naples is very busy right now with building and a great place for property. FINE FEATURED REAL ESTATE: Winston and his wife currently have 2 homes in Naples. Pick out a target down range. Place an alignment stick in the ground straight up to the sky 15 feet in front of your range ball and on the target line. Place 2 alignment sticks parallel to the target line, one inside the target line and one outside the target line. The golf ball is in the center between the sticks. Align your shoulders and feet parallel to the target line.

You are now properly aligned to hit the ball to the target. Don’t be surprised if you feel that you are aimed left. Many players aim their feet at or to the right of the target. The reason for this is that the eyes are not over the target line at address. The eyes get further away from the target line the longer the club. It is critical that the shoulders be parallel to the target line. Many players open the shoulders resulting in a pull or slice. The alignment stick 15 feet in front of the ball on the target line is very helpful to assess the initial direction of the ball flight. The more you practice, the proper alignment will feel natural and you are on your way to better golf!

BUYERS RUSH LUXURY MARKET IN NOVEMBER SELLERS IN THE LUXURY MARKET CAN EXPECT A VERY GOOD BUYER TURNOUT IN COMING MONTHS Naples, Fla. (December 19, 2014) – According to a consensus among Naples’ top brokers after they analyzed the November 2014 Market Report released by the Naples Area Board of REALTORS® (NABOR®), which tracks home listings and sales within Collier County (excluding Marco Island). Their prediction was based on several factors including overall pending sales activity, which rose 11 percent for homes priced over $1 million; overall closed sales activity, which increased 17 percent for homes priced over $1 million; and that the majority of homes sold in the $2 million and above category were cash sales. “Pending and closed sales activity in all price categories above $300,000 was up over the past 12-month period ending in November,” said Tom Bringardner, Jr., President/CEO of Premier Commercial. “Activity in the high end market is remarkable coming into season,” said Steve Barker, Advising Broker for Equity Realty. “The report indicated that a greater number of homes in the $2 million and above price category were sold [21] as compared to what sold in the same month last year [14]. This is a good sign for sellers in our market because people who have the resources to pay cash for million dollar homes are smart and careful investors. They are not going to make a poor investment decision, which speaks volumes for the value of our market.” The November 2014 report showed heightened activity in several areas of the luxury market including a 40 percent increase in overall closed sales for single family homes priced $2 million and above from 202 in the 12-months ending November 2013 to 282 in the 12-months ending November 2014; an 11 percent increase in closed sales for condominiums priced $1 million - $2 million from 234 in the 12-months ending November 2013 to 260 in the 12-months ending November 2014; and a 35 percent increase in single family median home prices in the Naples Beach area from $739,000 in the 12-months ending November 2013 to $1,000,000 in the 12-months ending November 2014. “Median price in the Naples Beach area single family home market can not continue to increase at the current rate indefinitely,” said Cindy Carroll, SRA, with the real estate appraisal and consultancy firm of Carroll & Carroll, Inc., who added that, despite aggressive activity in new construction, the report indicated that inventory in the resale market continued to decline. The NABOR® November 2014 Market Report provides comparisons of single-family home and condominium sales (via the Southwest Florida MLS), price ranges, and geographic segmentation and includes an overall market summary. The NABOR® November 2014 sales statistics are presented in chart format, including these overall (single-family and condominium) findings: • Overall pending sales decreased 2 percent from 840 in November 2013 to 825 in November 2014. • Pending sales for single family homes in the $300,000-$500,000 price category increased 32 percent from 99 in November 2013 to 131 in November 2014.

• Pending sales for single family homes in the $2 million and above category increased 24 percent from 25 in November 2013 to 31 in November 2014. • Overall closed sales decreased 2 percent from 9,878 in the 12-months ending November 2013 to 9,635 in the 12-months ending November 2014. • Median closed price increased 12 percent from $236,000 in the 12-months ending November 2013 to $265,000 in the 12-months ending November 2014. • Median closed price for single family homes in the $2 million and above price category increased 50 percent month over month from $2,600,000 in November 2013 to $3,900,000 in November 2014. • Overall inventory decreased 10 percent from 4,584 homes in November 2013 compared to 4,136 homes in November 2014. • Average days on market for November is at 79. According to Brenda Fioretti, Managing Broker at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Realty, the market’s median closed price has gone up 62 percent in the last four years from when it was $169,000 in November 2010 to $272,000 in November 2014. And inventory is down 63 percent from one of its highest points of 11,116 in November 2008 to 4,136 homes in November 2014. “Traditionally, the soft part of the year for real estate is September, October and parts of November,” said NABOR President Mike Hughes, Vice President and General Manager of Downing-Frye Realty. “But this year, the soft wasn’t soft; it was strong.” Despite a double-digit drop in overall inventory, the Naples area real estate market continued to see positive growth in various price points, categories, home styles and neighborhoods for both pending and closed sales activity in November.

Transferring wealth & wisdom from generation to generation THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT AND THE NEW 3.8% NET INVESTMENT INCOME TAX – DOES THIS TAX AFFECT YOU Short Answer – only if your Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) exceeds certain thresholds. In 2010, Congress passed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (the “Affordable Care Act”) which included numerous laws pertaining to healthcare, and specifically added two taxes that hit the so-called wealthy taxpayers. The first tax is a 3.8% tax on Net Investment Income – sometimes referred to as the Medicare Surtax. The second tax is a 0.9% Additional Medicare Tax on earned income. Prior to this time, there was a Medicare tax imposed on earned income of individuals who worked as an employee or who were self-employed. The tax for the employee was 1.45% and the employer had to match the tax with another 1.45%. Together, the combined Medicare tax was 2.9%. There was no Medicare tax imposed on non-workers who simply had investment income and there was no Medicare tax on the investment income of workers. In addition, the Affordable Care Act imposes an additional 0.9% Medicare tax on an employee whose wages exceed the threshold amounts to bring the employee’s tax up to 2.35% and the total of the two parts (employer + employee) to a combined total of 3.8%. The new Medicare Surtax, which kicked in on January 1, 2013, imposes a tax on high income earners (Married taxpayers filing jointly with Modified Adjusted Gross Income of $250,000, Single taxpayers with Modified Adjusted Gross Income of $200,000 and Married filing separately with Modified Adjusted Gross Income of $125,000) who have “Net Investment Income” and also have a Modified Adjusted Gross Income in excess of the thresholds. Note that Trustees need to pay special attention to this new tax as the threshold for the imposition of the Net Investment Income Tax is extraordinarily low ($12,300 in 2015). The new Additional Medicare Tax, which also kicked in on January 1, 2013 imposes an additional 0.9% Medicare tax on individuals with wages, compensation or self-employment income in excess of certain thresholds (Married taxpayers filing jointly $250,000, Single taxpayers $200,000 and Married filing separately $125,000). Net Investment Income is essentially unearned income including interest, dividends, capital gains, annuities, rental income, etc. The Net Investment Income Tax is imposed on the lesser of the Net Investment Income or the excess amount of MAGI over the thresholds described above. Please note that if you are actively involved in a trade or business or a real estate professional, you may be exempt from this tax. Modified Adjusted Net Income for purposes of the Net Investment

Income Tax is basically your Adjusted Gross Income with certain adjustments for income and deductions of Citizens or residents of the United States living abroad. For most taxpayers this means that MAGI equals to your Adjusted Gross Income. MAGI = [(Net Investment Income) + (Wages) + (Traditional IRA, 401(k), etc.) + (Deductions for Health Savings Accounts, alimony paid, IRA contributions, etc.) + (certain foreign excluded income)] The following example reflects the imposition of these new taxes on a married taxpayer who earns $250,000 from wages and who has $100,000 of Net Investment Income. MAGI ($350,000) = [Net Investment Income ($100,000) + Wages ($250,000)]. Here the 0.9% Additional Medicare tax does not apply because the taxpayer’s wages do not exceed the threshold amount of $250,000 for a married taxpayer filing jointly. However, because MAGI exceeds the threshold amount by $100,000 there will be a Medicare Surtax on the lesser of the amount of MAGI exceeding the threshold or the Net Investment Income. The 3.8% Medicare Surtax is therefore applied to the $100,000 excess MAGI creating $3,800 in additional tax to the taxpayer. If the taxpayer earns $350,000 and has $100,000 of Net Investment Income, then the 0.9% Additional Medicare Tax would apply to the earnings over the $250,000 threshold ($100,000 in wages) and the 3.8% Medicare Surtax would apply to the lesser of the excess MAGI or the Net Investment Income (in this case excess MAGI would be $200,000 so the 3.8% tax would be applied only to the $100,000 of Net Investment Income). MAGI ($450,000) = [Net Investment Income ($100,000) + Wages ($350,000)]. The result under the new law is an additional tax liability of $4,700 (3.8% x $100,000 + 0.9% x $100,000). This article does not cover the exceptions to what is not included in Net Investment Income, such as municipal bond income, qualified retirement income and it does not address planning techniques to avoid this increase in tax. The purpose of this article is simply to address the concept of how you may be impacted by the new tax law. As the New Year begins and we say goodbye to 2014, it brings forth a rebirth to our lives with resolutions and new goals for 2015. Â In the interior design world, a new year means fresh and sensational design solutions, styles, and ideas. Here are five design developments that you will see in the upcoming year.

Mixing rustic with modern – What is old is new again with a twist. A look that you will see in 2015 is the combination of mixing older traditional pieces with new modern styles. Using a rustic farmhouse kitchen table with metal contemporary chairs is a way in which you will see this design idea put into motion. When combining rustic elements with modern pieces, you should always try to keep balance and scale in mind. When you incorporate heavy pieces, complement it with ones that are understated and have clean lines. The comeback of the sectional - Just as clothing is a reflection of our own personal style, so is the furniture we select for our home. We are stepping away from museum-like spaces meant just to be looked at, and moving to transitional spaces for entertaining and living in. The right sectional can make a room cozy, functional and comfortable, yet also sets the tone of the space. Sectionals now come in many shapes, sizes, and styles from traditional to ultra-modern. The right sectional that fits your lifestyle is inviting enough to curl up on, and will also create visual interest defining your space.

Blue and white - Incorporating a blue and white color palette is a timeless and classic look that creates an all-American feeling. The combination dates back to the ninth century where blue pigments were used to create designs and motifs on white pottery in China. Also, during the 18th century, blue and white fabrics began being created and became prominent in France. Blue and white are appealing because they are calming colors that appeal to our senses. The color blue reduces stress, and evokes a sense of tranquility and peacefulness. Since it is such a strong contrast, just a few blue and white pieces will really make a big impact in a space. A great way to incorporate this serene palette is to bring in blue and white ginger jars and accessories. It doesn’t just have to follow the blue and white theme - they can actually be tied into any existing room.

Large - scale patterns The trick with combining large-scale patterns is finding the right combination of scale and balance. Patterns come in many different styles and varieties, from natural scenes of flowers and birds, to geometric chevrons, stripes and trellis-like patterns. A great way to tie large-scale patterns together is to unify them through a cohesive color. It’s best to have different styles of patterns so they complement, rather than compete with each other. One strategy to incorporate a large-scale pattern into your home is to use a large design on your window treatments or area rug.

Chocolate Cherry Cake 1 box fudge cake 1 21 oz. can of cherry pie filling 2 eggs beaten 1 tsp. almond extract Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all 4 ingredients together. Stir until all cake mix combined. Pour into a greased pan. Will make two 9 inch round (bake 25 minutes), 9 x 13 (30 minutes) or a 15 x 10 jelly pan (30 minutes).
