Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume are young entrepreneurs with dedication, passion and an undeniable work ethic. The brothers own a full-service plumbing company, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. Under the ownership, Pro-Tec Plumbing, has grown into a team of over thirty employees.
Plumbing and hit the ground running January 1, 2009. Brandon who is very passionate about golf decided to move to Florida in 2004 after he graduated from high school and attended Florida Gulf Coast University. Brandon graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. After graduation, Brandon helped hand dig the first residential home in 2009 with Rick. In 2011, Brandon decided to join forces permanently as Vice President and co-owner with his brother Rick and runs the office side of the business.
Rick and Brandon grew up in Plymouth, Massachusetts and moved to Florida in the early 2000’s. They started their plumbing business in 2009 with a promise to build the business focused on hard work, honesty and a promise to provide the quality of work that they would expect in their own home.
Rick is an outdoorsman with a wife, daughter and four dogs which can regularly be found in the office to greet our customers. In his free time, he enjoys weekends at his cabin with friends and family, offroading, and working on any kind of project in which he can perform the work himself.
Rick originally worked with his father who managed a company that cleaned up and recycled hazardous waste. At this company, Rick’s primary responsibilities were to construct large scale plumbing for oil refineries and waste water treatment plants.
Brandon is a family man who is outnumbered in his house by a wife, two young daughters and even a female dog. In his spare time, he enjoys being with friends and family, playing golf, traveling, drinking craft beer and watching his favorite sports teams the New England Patriots and Boston Bruins.
Later in Rick’s career he worked at a plumbing supply house as a delivery driver. He was offered a job from a customer to be a plumber’s helper. He got his feet wet as an apprentice until 2005 when he decided to move to Florida. He joined a small plumbing company and eventually managed running the trucks, doing estimates, invoicing and making decisions for the company. Rick became very passionate about plumbing and in the beginning of 2008 Rick attended school and passed the exams to become a Master plumber. Rick was laid off due to the economy sinking so he activated his license as the President of Pro-Tec
