December is the time of year when
we find ourselves including others
in our thoughts. Motivated by the joy of connection, we reach out to close family and friends to make long overdue plans. We connect through letters and cards to those we wish we were closer to and embrace the possibility of opening our doors to new opportunities and relationships. By the beginning of the month, most of us have already planned a few holiday outings and have begun to check off our ever-growing list of gift recipients. When we gather together, especially during the holidays, we are reminded of all the abundance in our lives. We have so much to be fortunate for this time of year.
And our thankfulness often propels many of us to join causes that help those less fortunate, or those going through challenging times during this joyful season.
