Big Pilot’s “Le Petit Prince” by IWC
Pilot’s Watch Mark XVII by IWC
In 2013 “The Little Prince”, the world-famous children’s book by French pilot and author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, celebrates its 70th birthday. To mark the occasion, IWC is launching the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar and the Pilot’s Watch Mark XVII in a “The Little Prince” special edition.
In terms of precision, reliability and authentic cockpit-style design, it embodies the family’s fundamental values. Like cockpit instrumentation, the midnight blue dial is reduced to essentials, and legibility is a top priority.
Portofino Hand-Wound Big Date by IWC
Portuguese Tourbillon Hand Wound by IWC
The striking big date display has now made its way into the Portofino watch family. IWC’s digital display tradition goes all the way back to 1885, when the Pallweber pocket watches showed the hours and minutes with numerals.
The flying minute tourbillon puts on a show no one can resist. The IWCmanufactured movement is firmly in the tradition of the 98 calibre, first designed for pocket watches in the 1930s and continuously improved ever since.

Serena by Bertolucci
Volta by Bertolucci
Serena explores and revisits an innovative design, giving the illusion of the strap passing through the case. Its evocative curves sketch an understated line as the delicate shape wraps itself round the wrist in matchless comfort.
Volta inherited its name from the timeless phrase “C’era ulna volta” or “Once upon a time.” This new collection reveals the secrets of eternal Italy, which has inspired the brand since its creation.
Serena Garbo by Bertolucci Serena garbo epitomizes the soft, pure curves of a pebble slowly polished by the movement of the waves under the Mediterranean sun. Its comfortable, voluptuous curves are inspired by the elegance and sensuality of Latin women.
Grand Classic by Bertolucci Timepiece aficionados can now enjoy classics in the characteristic pilot’s watch chronograph design, boasting attractive details such as a leather band with polished steel clasp or a mother-of-pearl dial.

Taylormade Golf SLDR Driver SLDR is built to help golfers hit longer, straighter drives by promoting a high launch angle, lower spin-rate and faster ball speed. Moving the CG forward in a driver is a monumental shift in metal wood thinking. For years, it’s been accepted that low and back was the ideal CG location for a driver, but TaylorMade found it was not the best way to generate the most distance. Long distance comes from combining fastball speed, high launch-angle and low spinrate. The company discovered that moving the CG forward promotes more ball speed and less spin. To launch the ball on a high enough angle to maximize distance, TaylorMade ascertained that most golfers benefit from increasing their loft, some by as much two or three degrees. $399 | taylormadegolf.com
Ashworth Cardiff ADC Available in men’s and—for the first time in the company’s history—women’s models, the new Cardiff ADC has been redesigned to deliver enhanced comfort, functionality and the performance of a traditional golf shoe, with the revamped styling and versatility of a casual shoe. Taylormade Golf SLDR Fairway Smaller is better. The new Speed Pocket is smaller (introduced in the RocketBallz fairways and Rescues), which actually makes it more efficient at increasing how fast the face flexes at impact, promoting faster initial ball speed across a wider portion of the face, which helps you get consistently long distance on every swing. $249.99 | taylormadegolf.com

This will help doctors predict diseases before they happen or pinpoint the exact cause. By using this library, doctors would be able to provide patients with more personalized treatment. No other institute in the world currently offers these capabilities. This digital brain library is one of the world’s most innovative brain banks. Along with the 1,000 brain project—the goal of digitizing 1,000 brains at the cellular level — Annese said he hopes the library will one day help to answer questions about major neurological diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Part of Annese’s vision is also developing The Brain Observatory as a space for exhibits on the brain where the public can visit and learn in an interactive, inspiring environment. With these innovative tools, students, researchers, doctors and even the general public will have the opportunity to study the amazing bundle of cells that makes us who we are. Annese and his team are working diligently to study patients as thoroughly as possible. RECIPE
1FINE The lighter side of stew: Lamb is
a tasty substitute for beef in this slow-cooked recipe.
Recipe and food photo by Maria Desiderata Montana
I
have always enjoyed a good beef stew, but lately I’ve been experimenting with other kinds of meat in my slow cooker. A version with lamb is my new favorite.
I have a garden in my backyard where I like to grow garlic and
a variety of seasonal herbs and vegetables. As I was trimming the rosemary the other day, I thought lamb would be the perfect pairing for it. I don’t like a heavy stew, and this one is light enough that you won’t feel weighed down after you eat it. With a myriad of colorful vegetables, it makes for a nice meal any time of the year. With this slow-cooked method, and the addition of a dark beer and beef bouillon, the lamb meat is tender enough to cut with a fork. This stew is easy to make, and the smell of all those mingling flavors will surely beckon you to eat more than one bowl.
Lamb Stew with Garden Vegetables (Makes 4 Servings) Ingredients • 24 ounce bag small-dutch-yellow-potatoes • 2 cups baby-carrots-cut and peeled

Decorative Finishes I use decorative finishes in nearly every one of my design projects. Walls can be transformed from flat dull spaces into exciting and intriguing spaces with visual texture, color, glazes and metallic burnished finishes. These types of finishes will add depth and drama to any space. Rules to Remember • Light colors will be expansive and airy, making rooms seem brighter and even larger. These can range from creamy whites, beiges and oatmeal all the way to soft pastels. • Darker tones are sophisticated and warm. Think: smoke, charcoal, slate, grey, chocolate brown or black. They can bring a more intimate feeling to a large room. • Bright colors such as reds, yellows and orange are a great choice for rooms where you want to stir up a little excitement, particularly at night. For instance, red draws people together and stimulates conversation. • To induce calm and tranquil moods, introduce blues, greens and soft shades of lavender. • For drama, you might mix the colors for a sharp contrast such as smoke and lavender or chocolate brown and robin’s egg blue. Let your imagination have fun and learn to use color to dictate the mood of a room—and turn it from drab to fab!

Overlaying information into your vision has clear benefits, a number of which are already operative in Google Glass. For instance, directions become more visceral, taking videos, snapping pictures and scrolling answering messages becomes a hands-free process‌users can even see real-life translations of transcriptions of what is being spoken right in front of them! Essentially, any task that requires you to look at a screen could be put in front of you, including flight details while you are at the airport--basically, the sky is the limit. The idea has been around for years in science fiction, but has only just recently become a reality that gives us a Google-eye view of the world.
