There is an air of dynamism to Saphyre. It's not just that it's a new companyor that it happens to be an innovative fintech startup. Rather, the energy can be put down to the brothers themselves, whose energetic and upbeat ways of working seem to infiltrate all areas of the company.
It is this same energy that almost certainly results in the duo launching Saphyre in 2017, and creating a company that neatly differentiated itself from its competitors in the marketplace. The Roche brothers realised that silos and poor user experiences were benefitting no one in the pre-trade space.
They decided that nothing less than a wholesale disruption of the status quo would satisfy their desire to democratise trading. Today, Saphyre is an easy-to-use, integrated pre-trade onboarding platform for the exchange of data and documents between asset managers, brokers, custodians, thirdparty administrators, and clients.
Based in Hoboken, New Jersey, the company is run by an experienced financial team that have created a streamlined fintech/regtech communication platform to speed processes in order to help our clients achieve revenue faster.
In a recent interview for FinTech Magazine Saphyre’s CEO, Gabino (Stephen is President) told us that despite the challenges of the pandemic, Saphyre has weathered the storm and become more reliant and agile as a result.
Gabino explained, “We were a little nervous in the beginning because meeting facetoface with clients is an important thing when building a business. Saphyre is a technology company, so it wasn't hard for us to handle going remote, but we were afraid that would create a dip in our client engagement.”
They needn’t have worried, because by utilising video conferencing software and saving travel time between engagements, Saphyre actually managed to create more opportunities than ever.
Now, as a degree of normality is gradually restored to life and work in the US, Gabino states that lessons learned regarding remote working’s efficacy for the business will not be forgotten.
Saphyre has achieved the lofty ambition it set out in 2017, with the development of its integrated onboarding platform.
The fintech’s innovative buy-side portal is being constantly developed to align with and progress this overarching vision. Information that was previously siloed for the community - and therefore difficult to link - has been released through the company’s expanded offerings for the security services space. Now fund accountants, transfer agents, security services, and outsourced middle office teams can now work on behalf of the buyside firms.
Earlier this year, the fintech also announced its strategic partnership with Symphony, Symphony, a financial markets’ infrastructure, and technology platform, to integrate patented AI technology into pre and post-trade workflows for the front, middle and back-office teams.

Piervanni is an entrepreneur with a great reputation in the cryptocurrency sector for versatility and adaptability. He discovered bitcoin just over one year after its creation, when the price did not exceed $0.30 per bitcoin. From 2014 to 2018, he built and managed one of the most important mining farms in Iceland, reaching a capacity of 750KW/h. In 2015, he founded UgoliniCapital, a proprietary trading firm focused on arbitrage strategies on exotic derivatives as well as venture capital activities in companies in the blockchain and cryptocurrency sector. He has an extensive network in the digital currency and venture capital spaces.

Rolands Mesters is the CEO and Co-Founder of Nordigen, the only freemium open banking API that connects to more than 2,300 banks, making it the largest network of bank connections in Europe. Rolands is a sales and growth hacker who is passionate about fintech and alternative lending.
Nordigen began as a data analytics company that builds solutions for categorising and analysing bank account data. In December 2020, the company launched Europe’s first free open banking account data API. In July 2022, Nordigen was acquired by GoCardless.
