i want to create some detachable gloves on the sleeves of my garments and possably a few pairs of seperate gloves specific for lifting weights

hamstrings

fabric around the glutes should provide a wide range of movement. this is one of the areas that is likely to wear and strech as i found out while conducting my interviews. i will pay particular attention when designing in this area to chhose fabrics that will not loose integrity.

gloves must allow a full capacity of hand movement, any padding and grip must not restrict flexability or they will not be comfortable

the knee area where the joint is situated will require the most flexable and durable fabric.

gluteus maximus i have labeled all the main muscles in the male body. i focused on the muscles which are most commonly injured, in need of the most support and most commonly worked on in the gym. i have done this to allow myself to create a sort of map so i know which areas need extra consideration when i am constructing my garments.

illiac crest

gluteus medius

semitedinosus

theres is alot of stress and friction around the knee area espically during exercise. fabric must not stretch or tear.

calves

area of stress

fabric around the ankle area will be slightly wider/have more give to allow the foot to easily and confortably get through the legging/ exercise pant.

achilles

gastrocnemius padding may be needed in heel area of legging/ sock to prevent friction the leg muscles are slip up into a series of 4 layers making them one of the most complex muscle groups in the body.
