INITIAL RESEARCH // A SENSE OF PLACE

Painting with textures found from the farm. Squeezing different berries to discover what colours they produce, and using them to influence a colour range. Taking the grains, which grow in the fields and picking them apart to discover natural shapes you were unaware existed. Replicating the track marks made in the mud and using it to inspire print. Taking the notion of expanding into a space. Growth. Using this to influence texture. How will this fit onto a silhouette?

G R O W T H

28th SEPT 5pm Very wet ground and a lot of track prints were still visible. Lots of muddy puddles. Growth of crops are still visible. A very quiet and peaceful walk.

1st OCT 4.40pm Very quiet walk, didn’t pass many people. The sun was beginning to set so the light was dim. I felt very peaceful and at one with myself, The crops were short, almost non-existent . The walk was about miles long.

5th OCT 12.20pm The ground was very wet ad the growth of crops and bushes has increased quite dramatically. Lots of tracks from cars, tractors, bicycles, horses, paw prints and footprints.

15th OCT 11am The clouds were amazing today. Every view was filled with a lovely sky. It was warm with a cool breeze. The ground was dry and the majority of the leaves were still green. The crops were still short, the soil was full of patterns from the tractor.

18th OCT 3.30pm The ground was wet and the growth of crops and bushes has increased quite dramatically. Lots of tracks from cars, tractors, bicycles, horses, paw prints and footprints.
