DIRECTIONS FOR PAGE 122 1. Title page 122, Term 3: PAR 2. Write an issue that interests you in the CENTER of the page (i.e. youth jobs, Grow or Die, MBTA costs, etc.) 3. Use a color and draw a circle or square or neat design around it. 4. Use two or more other colors and write 20 terms and/or statements around it neatly (for example, if you pick Grow or Die, four sample terms/phrases that you may write are plants, gardens, “We need more fresh food in school.”, vacant lots, etc….) DIRECTIONS FOR PAGE 123 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Title page 123, PAR Brainstorm. Use at least THREE colors on this page. Read through ALL these steps before you start drawing on page 123. You will need to draw the PAR cycle (all six steps) on this page. Step one, “Stop and reflect on current situation”, should be your LARGEST box. You will need to write a 6-8 sentence paragraph describing yourself and your experiences in your community. This is just a selfreflection on how you feel and what you see around you in your neighborhood. 6. Step two, “Raise a question”, only needs to be large enough to fit a question that interests you. This will most likely be tied to the word web you drew on page 122. What question do you think needs to be addressed in your community? 7. For step three, “Plan to seek answers”, all I want you to do is brainstorm ways you might answer this question. For example, will you survey a certain group of people (if so, who?)? Will you read up on statistics? Interview? Come up with TWO ideas. 8. Step 4-6 can be written small and won’t be completed at this time.
