tasks

THE FOLLOWING TASKS SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY THE END OF TODAY If you finish your task early, that does not mean you are done for the day. Choose something else that will benefit your project and group.

TASK 1 – ORGANIZING (one member must do – about a 10 min. job) Make sure all documents are: - titled (i.e. Lit Review, Survey, etc.), - placed in a GoogleDoc folder titled PAR PROJECT – ___(your topic typed here)___, and - shared with me and everyone in your group (actually share the folder). Open your Google Documents. Click on CREATE and select the folder icon, Collection. The folder will say New Collection. Change that name to: PAR PROJECT – _(your topic typed here)__ Click on Home (below CREATE). Check the boxes in front of all PAR documents that you want to put into this folder. Next, click on the folder icon that is located next to the small garbage can icon. Select the folder you just made, and click on Apply Changes. Now al your documents are there. Take the time to go through and make sure each document in this folder has a proper name (i.e. survey, interview, lit review 1, etc.) I do not want to see Untitled Document. This is unacceptable. By now you should know how to change the document’s name. Finally, share the folder with all your group members AND me (fiorinicivics@gmail.com).

TASK 2 – PEER-EDITING (multiple members can do) Print one document, even if I’ve already edited it, and use an FCA- ½ sheet to proofread. Mark up the text…caps, punctuation, sentence fixes for clarity. (I have a handout with editing symbols).

TASK 3 – ARRANGE the INTERVIEW (one member can do this) This week you must arrange an interview. Try to set it up for this week…May 15th is next week Tuesday (the due date)…so don’t postpone. If they are not in the school: Email whomever you will interview: Include who you are, what you’re researching, and ask if there is a time this week after school you could meet with them. Need an email address? Go to their organizations website. If they are in school: Handwrite or type what you’d like to say to them, show me, and then I’ll write you a pass to go set up a time to meet them. You can set the time/date for after school or during my class period.

TASK 4 – INPUT SURVEY RESULTS INTO A GOOGLE DOCUMENT OR EXCEL SPREADSHEET (See task list from last week Thursday) (If you need to still hand out surveys, and you want to do this during my class period, have teachers sign a note saying this is okay.)

TASK 5 – FIELDNOTES (See task list from last week Thursday) If you have completed fieldnotes, read through your notes and answer: What did you learn? Did you learn anything that can help you answer your research question? (If you need help starting, peek at Marlin’s data. I have extra copies with me.) ================================================================================== Still need ideas for a lit review or document analysis?
