Nyaarla and MADALAH wins International Award

by Kate Sutton Nyaarla Projects and MADALAH Ltd has scooped up an International Social Service Award through the Asia Pacific Enterprise Corporation (AP-EC). The Social Service Award is given to organisations, which identify the problems and needs of their community and take positive measures to solve them. Nyaarla/MADALAH personifies this through their many youth enhancement programs. The other Australian businesses that were awarded this prize were two globally recognised organisations, Westpac and Worley Parsons. “We are extremely excited to be rewarded with this prestigious award and receive international recognition for our team’s hard work. This is testament to our supportive team of mentors and youth workers and our young indigenous participants who have been empowered by our programs, giving them self confidence to realise their dreams,” beams Nyaarla / MADALAH’s proud CEO and Co- Founder, Alan Beattie. Set up nine years ago, Nyaarla Projects is a for-profit organisation, which specialises in indigenous Training and Employment, Youth Services and Education, Community Consultation and Consulting. organisation; it is a not-for-profit organisation to empower youth to achieve excellence in life by Making A Difference And Looking Ahead. In 2010 and 2011 Nyaarla/ MADALAH received recognition for their outstanding community work through being recipients of the Australian Business Awards. “We are now being acknowledged by APELA – Asia Pacific Enterprise Leadership Awards, the most prestigious awards in the Asia Pacific region, and I proudly attribute this to our dedicated team and all the young people who have participated and made positive

changes to their life. I am just back from Singapore after receiving our award, and it was an inspiration. I was able to share our success model and learn from other likeminded organisations across the whole region. I have brought back new practices to incorporate into our business. Nyaarla / MADALAH has some exciting new developments on the horizon.” says Alan. Alan also spoke as part of the AP-EC Corporate Sustainability Summit which was held in Singapore from 12-13th March.
