The bull sale looks a bit different this year as the Jones’s have retired (sort of)! Since joining the sale in 2015, we have learnt many life lessons during that time! Gordon, Lauren and Donalee, thank you for your guidance and friendship. Lauren – we will make sure those tails are combed out and fluffed sale day. Doll – thank you for the countless hours you spent coordinating and ensuring the ads and marketing pieces were all done on time!

Now we would like to welcome the Handfords to the Prairie Partners Bull Sale! We have been working with the Handfords over the past few years through the Pembina Triangle sale in assisting getting the heifers ready. We believe they have a strong red and black program that compliments the offering here at the Prairie Partners and we look forward to continuing to work with Robert and Jason for years to come!

With that being said, it’s time to talk about the bulls! I wasn’t sure how we were going to follow the 2022 sale, but the boys speak for themselves. Black, red or fleck; polled or horned, we have something for everyone. I couldn’t be more proud of this year’s group of bulls.

The bulls are developed on native grass and mommas milk until early August when we start them on whole oat creep feed. They stay on oat/corn creep feed through weaning until the corn silage is ready. In mid-November they are transitioned to a TMR ration of corn silage, alfalfa hay, corn grain and fully chelated mineral package which they will remain on until they are delivered. We do our best to ensure bulls are delivered right to your doorstep!

We reserve the right to draw semen for in herd use only, on any of the bulls in the offering. Coat color, diluter and polled test results will be available prior to the sale. We strongly encourage you to come tour the bulls at home but understand how hard that can be to get away! Please do not hesitate to give us a call or reach out to any of the Transcon or First Class Marketing staff.

This set of brothers is impressive! We cannot say enough about the Anchor D 175C cow, she has proven herself time and again here, and is why she is one of our top donors. Lots 1-4 are all fall born full brothers by Sugar Ray. They are soft made, hairy and super thick. Lot 1 is the polled dark red bull that is an eye catcher! Lot 5 is 175C’s natural calf sired by Double Bar D Motown, and he is the youngest bull in the offering but yet weighed up at 1445 in January!

Knox is an Ozark son that is complete in his type and structure. He is long and has that muscle shape we desire. His dam a very productive young cow, raising a full brother to Knox last year that was one of the high sellers to 3M Cattle in AB and we have her first calf as a female working in the herd. Lot 10

Kicksart is a bull that has been one of our favorites all along. He is long and smooth made and has that eye catching style about him. His dam is a moderate, very good producing Cherry Creek Canon daughter. A full sibling to Kickstart was a high seller in the Pembina Traingle sale last year to Mark Land & Cattle. We also used a maternal brother, Flywheel 183F, on heifers.

Kendrick is a bull that has had the herd bull look since he was baby calf! He is as stout as you can make them and as wide as a table top. He is deep sided and has huge muscle expression. His dam is super thick deep sided cow that milks! Kendrick was the heavy weight at weaning weighing in at 1045 in September then by the end of January he was 1600lbs! This is a bull that has the potential to sire calves that press that scale down come the fall. A maternal sister sold in the Pembina Triangle sale to Ruby Lane Farms – Fleckvieh Simmentals in Texas.

This is the second set of Ozark sons to sell and he continues to impress us. They are docile, easy doing and have a style about them. His first set of daughters are calving now, and they have beautiful square udders! This Ozark son is one to check out!

Here is a half fleck bull that is a complete package. We cannot say enough about the Freightliner progeny, they are docile, easy keeping and just perform! This guy is out of a fleck cow that is good consistent cow that raises a top calf year after year.

Here is a powerhouse Freightliner son that is the full package. He is long, deep sided, wide topped, extremely heavy quartered, large testicles, great temperament, and a nice thick hair coat. He will sire an excellent set of male and female progeny that feedlots pay premium for! Absolutely love this bull and being 1/2 fleck just puts the icing on the cake.

Kendrix is a bull we are pretty impressed with. We bought his dam out of the Pembina Triangle sale last year from Berts NR Simmentals and she did a bang-up job on this guy as her first calf. He has heifer bull written all over him, being in the 4th percentile rank for Calving Ease and has a modest birth weight of 71lbs but still weaned close to 900lbs in September!

Here is a great heifer bull prospect! He is an unregistered bull, straight Simmental all the way back! His dam goes back to Night Hawk and Cobra, both proven calving ease bulls and we used Gustavo on a few heifers as well. He is soft made and super easy doing. His dark red almost black coloring is added perk!

Kipp is another heifer bull prospect. This Heat Wave son is long bodied and smooth made. His Dam OJ Circus is one we bought out of the Cobra Event and has done very well, producing a high selling bull calf as a heifer then her second calf was a heifer that we have kept and is the dam of 944J (lot 24).

Kruz is a bull that has been a favorite of ours all along! This Tycoon son is deep sided and thick made, a complete package with a maternal powerhouse as a dam. Kinetic is a Ceaser son that is well made and has a massive top and depth of quarter. He is backed by one of our favorite cow families, the 15E family. 15E is red blaze cow that produced year after year. This a bull with the perfect combination of maternal and performance.

Jett 906J is super soft made Night Hawk son, that is a great heifer bull prospect with a moderate birth weight of 79lbs and the 15th percentile for CE. We have been using Hight Hawk on heifers for a few years and they come super easy then grow! Its hard to find a heifer bull that calves this easy but still gives you good, marketable calves that press down that scale come fall, this has that in his make up!

This SimAngus bull is a perfect display of hybrid vigour! He is super easy doing and has been a standout since birth. He is a moderate frame with a ton of shape and muscle mass.
