Jaipur: In a big development for the wildlife in the State, the National Tiger Reserve Authority has given in-principle approval for the Dholpur Tiger Reserve. z Over 450 sq km in Dholpur and 655 sq km area in Karauli z In Dholpur area, tiger T-116 and tigress T-117 and their two cubs have presence in different areas z About 8 tigers are roaming in the Karauli forest area z Govt sends proposal of Dholpur Tiger Reserve to NTCA z At present, there are 4 tiger reserves – Ranthambore, Sariska, Mukandra and Ramgarh Vishdhari z Although the proposal of Kumbhalgarh has been pending at the level of the State Government for a long time z At present, there are a total of 110 tigers including 75 in Ranthambore, 25 in Sariska and 10 in Dholpur-Karauli a long time. Sawai Madhopur: T-19 Krishna, daughter of Ranthambore’s famous tigress Machhali, breathed her last on Wednesday. Around 12 noon, the forest officials were informed about the tigress being found dead in the Lakdada forest area of Kundera range. The age of the tigress was about 17 years. On information, Acting DFO (Divisional Forest Officer) Manas Singh reached the spot. Manas Singh said she has become physically weak at the last stage of her age. Being weak, the tigress was not able to hunt for many days and was ill for the last 20 days. There were itching marks in many places on the neck of the tigress.

Jaipur: Asiatic lion GS was brought to Jaipur from Machia Biological Park in Jodhpur at around 10 am on Wednesday under the Wildlife Exchange Program.
Under the supervision of senior officers of the department, GS has covered a distance of 351 kms in 10 hours. There are preparations to keep the 9 year old GS in Lion Safari by making a pair with lioness of Jaipur ‘Tara’. Before this, GS will be kept quarantined for 3 weeks at the Biological
Park, Nahargarh. Arvind Mathur, senior veterinary doctor at Nahargarh Biological Park, said that during a journey from Jodhpur to Jaipur, the GS was given rest by stopping the vehicle every 50 kms.

Dholpur: In a major action of Dholpur police under ‘Operation Langda’ the police successfully traced the thieves.
6 miscreants entered PNB in Marina town with weapons and opened fire and looted Rs 4 lakh after taking the manager hostage at gunpoint on Wednes- day. The miscreants carried out the entire incident in 80 seconds. While running towards UP, the miscreants had an encounter with the police in which 3 dacoits were shot. After getting information about the robbery, the police under the leadership of Maniyan CO Deepak Khandelwal laid siege to miscreants.

Jaipur: Food and civil supplies minister
Pratap Singh Khachariyawas on Wednesday led a protest against the Centre where the effigy of PM Narendra Modi was burnt at the Jaipur Collectorate Circle. The protest was led by Khachariyawas and was held at about 16 places in the district including Jaipur Collectorate.
“The country is becoming hollow because of Adani. The Centre is silent against inflation and unemployment,” he said. The Centre is not reducing prices of petrol-diesel-gas, the minister said.
