YES IT’S SONIA AGAIN! AFTER TWO MONTHS OF WILDERNESS, CONG RETURNS BACK TO GANDHI PARIVAR n RAHUL
OVERRULED & ISOLATED n STRATEGIC WIN FOR AHMED PATEL, ASHOK GEHLOT, MUKUL WASNIK, AVINASH PANDE
Aditi Nagar New Delhi: By taking a complete U-Turn and ignoring Rahul Gandhi, Congress party comes back to Gandhi family only. While resigning from the post of the party president on July 3, Rahul had categorically ruled out the possibility of any Gandhi, including Sonia and Priyanka, to take over the charge of the party in his absence. Now, the outcome of a muchawaited CWC only indicates that Congress can’t survive without Gandhis. An another important aspect of this development from Sonia’s nomination as the interim president happens to be a major win for Ahmed Patel-Ashok GehlotMukul Wasnik-Avinash Pande camp, who had initially floated the name of a Gandhi family loyalist Mukul Wasnik, but at the eleventh hour of CWC, by gauging the mood of senior leaders still arguing for Rahul and Sonia, this camp by changing its previous strategy, immediately lined up behind Sonia by dumping the candidature of Wasnik. Infact, Sonia as the party president ap-
Capt. Amarinder Singh, Punjab CM Happy to see Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji back in the saddle. It was the best decision in the current circumstances. Her experience and understanding will help guide @ INCIndia. I wish her and the party all the best.
A BUSY SATURDAY FOR CM GEHLOT
CM Ashok Gehlot had a busy day in New Delhi taking part in CWC, that pondered over the new party chief before finalising the name of Sonia Gandhi. Gehlot also met various youth leaders before flying back to Jaipur in the evening
Anand Sharma, Rajya Sacha MP We are all grateful to Smt #SoniaGandhi for accepting request of the unanimous request of the CWC to be the Interim President of @INCIndia, at this critical juncture when India faces numerous challenges.
Smt #SoniaGandhi ji has kindly accepted the unanimous proposal of CWC, keeping in mind serious challenges before our Nation n all Congressmen are grateful to her for the same. I have full faith that under Sonia ji’s leadership, all Congressmen would work with dedication. —Ashok Gehlot peals more to everyone including Wasnik himself. Everyone knows that Wasnik was not a natural alternative to any Gandhi-family candidate, but in absence of Gandhis, he was the most suited candidate available to the ‘traditional Congress’. Anyhow at the end of the day, Congress’

months long uncertainty and confusion is over and now everyone has taken a sigh of relief including towering Congress leader and three-time Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, who was being pressed very hard by Sonia and Priyanka to take over this charge, but Gehlot
Kolkata: Chief Election Commissioner, Sunil Arora, on a two-day visit to West Bengal on Saturday, met up with the state’s newly-appointed Governor, Jagdeep Dhankar at Kolkata’s Raj Bhavan. During their meeting, Arora ruled out any possibility of the use of ballot papers in elections, citing judgment of Supreme Court in this regard. Arora said the demand made by some political parties Turn to P4
was not at all willing to shift to Delhi. The return of Sonia Gandhi and isolation of Rahul Gandhi will also seriously hurt the say of Rahul’s young brigade in the key matters of the party. The apparent losers are Milind Deora, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sachin Pilot and so on.

Singh to file RS papers from Raj
New Delhi: National Conference MPs, Mohd Akbar Lone and Hasnain Masood, on Saturday moved the Supreme Court challenging the August 5 Presidential Order by which Article 370, granting special status to the Jammu and Kashmir, was revoked and sought a declaration that it be declared as illegal and unconstitutional. They also challenged the Jammu and Kashmir (Reorganisation) Act of 2019 by which the state was bifurcated into two Union Territories and sought a direction to declare it as “unconstitutional, void, and inoperative”. This is the fourth

petition filed in the top court on the revocation of special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir. The NC leaders said that they MPs and as citizens of India they are ag-
grieved by the Presidential orders. “Presidential Order uses Article 370(1)(d) - which was meant to apply other provisions of the Constitution to
the state of Jammu and Kashmir - to alter Article 370 itself, and thereby the terms of the federal relationship between the state of Jammu and Kashmir and the Union of India,” the plea said. “Presidential order having been passed during an extended period of President’s Rule, it substitutes the concurrence of the Governor for that of the Government (and effectively, therefore, amounts to the Central Government (acting through the President) taking its own consent (under President’s Rule) to change the very character of a federal unit,” it added.
