MK interim chief Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) on Saturday filed nomination for election to the party’s powerful General Secretary post, setting the ball rolling for his ultimate elevation, as rival leader O Panneerselvan slammed the “pickpocket-like” approach of the EPS camp in holding the polls, alleging due party process was not followed.

Chennai (ANI): Tamil chief, dealing a blow to Pannerselvam (OPS) in his running feud with his rival over the leadership issue.

Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state vice president Nainar Nagenthiran on Saturday said that the party would follow the orders of the top leadership on forming an alliance with the AIADMK. Nainar Nagenthiran was responding to news of a possible BJP-AIADMK alliance in Tamil Nadu.

New Delhi (PTI): Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Saturday said he does not see a “middle path” to end the logjam in Parliament as the Opposition’s demand for a JPC probe into the Adani issue was “non-negotiable” and the question of an apology over Rahul Gandhi’s remarks in the UK does not arise.

He said the govt is rattled by 16 Opposition parties coming together to demand a joint parliamentary probe into the Adani issue and is resorting to a “3D orchestrated campaign — distort, defame and divert”.

He also hit out at BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s efforts to seek termination of Rahul Gandhi’s LS membership over his remarks in the UK, saying all this was “intimidation” and part of efforts to distract from the real issues.
