How can he become PM when he can’t handle his party: CM

First India Bureau

Mumbai: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde hit out at Uddhav Thackeray in a meeting at Khed on Sunday. Shinde raised questions like how did Uddhav move away from Hindutva?

How did he get tempted by the post of Chief Minister?

Commenting on Uddhav, Shinde said, “Balasaheb kept the Congress-NCP away. But you decided to make Rahul Gandhi of Con-

gress the Prime Minister of the country. How can he become the PM who cannot handle the

responsibility of his party president? He who cannot conquer a state, how can he win

“You were tempted by power. You are fascinated by the chair. You took it. But when the topics of Savarkar, Dawood, and Hindutva came up, you started changing your stance. What could be more unfortunate than this?”, questioned Shinde.

“What do you think about Sonia Gandhi and Sharad Pawar? We saw this in the video. When Sharad Pawar was the Agriculture Minister, you would have said,

what did he achieve as the minister? So, what happened after the 2019 election? He lit the bulb of power and chief ministership in your head and what was bad became good. You forgot everything,” Shinde criticized Uddhav. Referring to the incident of Ajit Pawar winking in front of the media, Shinde further added, “While giving bait to the media, who was winking at whom? We saw that. What’s going on?”

Rahul should share info if he is serious about women's issues: Thakur

New Delhi (PTI): A Delhi Police team on Sunday queried Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at his residence over his remark made during the Bharat Jodo Yatra that “women are still being sexually assaulted” and asked him to provide information about the “victims” to take up their complaints.

A furious Congress condemned the Delhi Police action after the cops knocked on Gandhi’s doors for the third time in five days, and attacked the Central govt, accusing it of harassment, intimidation and vendetta, but the BJP rejected the charge. Terming the action as “unprecedented”, Gandhi, in his preliminary reply, questioned the sudden urgency shown by Delhi Police.

Nagpur: Union minister Anurag Thakur on Sunday said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should share information if he is really serious about women’s issues.

Thakur’s remarks came on a day Delhi Police queried Rahul Gandhi at his residence over his remark made during the Bharat Jodo Yatra that “women are still being sexually assaulted”. Speaking to reporters in Nagpur, Thakur wondered if Rahul was trying to hide something. “It has become a habit of some people to remain in limelight by saying anything. Mumbai: Shiv SenaUddhav Balasaheb

Thackeray leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday alleged that Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju’s remarks that a few retired judges are part of an “anti-India gang” are an attempt to pressure the judiciary and threaten judges.

Speaking at a conclave in the national capital on Saturday, Rijiju had claimed that a few retired judges and some activists who are “part of the anti-India gang” are trying to make the Indian judici-

ary play the role of the opposition party.

Reacting to the remarks while talking to reporters here, Raut said, “What kind of democracy is this? Does it suit a law minister to threaten the judiciary?

It is a threat to judges who refuse to bow down to the government and it’s an attempt to pressure the judiciary.”

being against the nation, Raut said.

The Shiv Sena - UBT Rajya Sabha MP also said that after Rahul Gandhi spoke about the threats to democracy in the country, there is now a move to get the Congress leader suspended from the Lok Sabha.

To a question on the demand that Gandhi should apologize for his comments, Raut said,

“Rahul Gandhi will not apologize and why should he?” “Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have in fact spoken against the country and its political leaders on foreign soil,” he charged.

The BJP has been demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi over his recent remarks he made in London, in which he alleged that the structures of Indian democracy are under

attack and there is a “full-scale assault” on the country’s institutions.

The remarks triggered a political storm, with the BJP accusing him of maligning India on foreign soil and seeking foreign interventions, and the Congress hitting back at the ruling party by citing previous instances of PM Narendra Modi raising internal politics abroad.

Thane: The air quality in Mumbai has improved from ‘poor’ to ‘moderate’ due to the recent unseasonal rains that have settled pollutants. Experts, however, predict that this improvement will be short-lived as the skies clear.

On Saturday, Mumbai recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 166, which is lower than most days in the past

four months. The recent rainfall has helped clear the air by washing away most of the common air pollutants

Mumbai has been recording ‘poor’ to ‘very poor’ air quality, with some days being even worse than Delhi and other major cities.

Experts attribute the deteriorating air quality to vehicular pollution and construction work.

IN-DEPTH RAHUL GANDHI IS CAUGHT IN GOVERNMENT’S CROSS HAIR

The world’s economy has come under the grip of the two-year-old COVID-19 pandemic and has been adversely impacted by the Ukraine conflict. But India’s economy has been remarkably resilient to deteriorating external environment, and strong macroeconomic fundamentals have placed it in good stead

Currently India is at the helm of affairs in world fora with a permanent seat in UNSC, Presidency of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) as well as G-20 and important member of BRICS and Indo Pacific Initiative of US. India has emerged as ‘voice of global south’ and has been acknowledged as emerging power of the century by the US, Russia, and their allies. India’s growing importance is evident as the US sees India as an important partner for peace in Indo Pacific and the Russians have found their longest strategic ally standing firm with them in the ongoing Ukraine conflict. India’s international geopolitical stature has risen mainly due to stable political environment at home and wider acceptability abroad. The world’s economy has come under the grip of the two-year-old COVID-19 pandemic and has been adversely impacted by the Ukraine conflict. But India’s economy (fifth largest in world) has been remarkably resilient to the deteriorating external environment, and strong macroeconomic fundamentals have placed it in good stead compared to other emerging market economies. The growing political stature

and economic potential has taken India to a new high in global affairs. India needs to promote regional peace and stability in order to have a strong claim to be a major world player but currently the biggest challenge India faces is its unstable neighbours.

CURRENT SITUATION IN NEIGHBOURHOOD: INDIA’S PERSPECTIVE

Currently barring Bhutan and Bangladesh India’s neighbourhood is facing political and economic turmoil, with countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal facing a long road for recovery while Myanmar and Afghanistan virtually facing global isolation. It is in India’s interest to promote regional economic integration, and need to step up role of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) in regional cooperation, dialogue, and regional economic integration and enhance effectiveness of BIMSTEC.

Nepal: Since the abolition of the monarchy, the Himalayan Republic has hardly ever seen political stability and economic growth & politicians have been more interested in playing India against China for getting economic or infrastructure aid in return. It was with India’s help that Nepal overcame its economic crisis in past and now again the country is on verge of debt trap facing growing unemployment and high inflation. India may have to step up as-

sistance to make Nepal economically self-sufficient and counter Chinese influence.

Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka is facing political turmoil and unprecedented financial crisis since 2022 mainly attributed to the poor financial policies of all-powerful ruling Rajapaksa family. To emerge from the present economic crisis President Wickremesinghe is seeking support of global financial institutions like IMF. India on its part has extended four billion dollars aid and has supported the IMF’s proposal based on the Debt Security Analysis.

Maldives: There is political flux in the Maldives with the rivalry between President Ibrahim Solih and Speaker Mohammed Nasheed touching a new high and the country’s economy still recovering from the brutal impact of the global pandemic. India on its part has successfully dealt with “Keep India Out” campaign and developed good bilateral relations with Maldives in defence and economic fields.

Afghanistan: The resurgent Taliban rule is yet to be recognized by global community including their once-upon-atime mentor Pakistan and Emirates. India has reopened its operations in Kabul and began the process of re-engaging by sending humanitarian aid. While signalling a long-term commitment to development of Afghanistan, India must draw redlines on

Pakistan: Pakistan is in middle of worst pollical and economic crisis as virtually all parties have failed to deliver on governance. Despite Chinese assistance, the country is rocked by food and fuel shortages, terror attacks and political turmoil. Though the LOC with India has seen lesser firing and infiltration in last one year, yet there is no let out on promoting Sikh radicalisation in Punjab and targeting innocent Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley. The things have worsened with a running battle with the Taliban rulers of Afghanistan over the Durand Line dispute and accusing the Taliban of supporting Pakistan terror group Tehreek-eTaliban. Its right time for both India & Pak to mutually initiate confidence building measure to mitigate the hostile environment.

China: An assertive surge in Chinese economic & diplomatic involvement in the region is a major point of concern. The long-term conflict between the two sides lies in divergent perceptions of each other, long lingering border dispute, the growing power gap where China is emerging as global power challenging the US and India has emerged as regional power. And in geopolitical stand-off with China, importance of maintaining positive influence with India’s neighbours cannot be understated. The commonality of stand between India & China on Russo- Ukraine war & successful Modi - Xi Ping summit meets should be further explored & steps should be taken to normalise bilateral relations.

THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY THE AUTHOR ARE PERSONAL

After being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in the National Herald case last year and facing heat in parliament for his alleged anti-India comments in London, Congress leader is being hauled on coals for his comments that “women are still being sexually assaulted” made during his Kashmir leg of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Delhi Police reached his Tughlaq Road residence on Sunday morning after more than 40 days of the conclusion of his long march. Police had taken cognizance of posts on the social media and recently sent a list of questions asking for details of the women who spoke to him so that justice can be given to him.

Whether it is his statement made in London allegedly insulting the country or during the long march, the government’s intention is to keep Rahul Gandhi and his party on the back foot. To make matters worse for him the BJP has initiated a move to get him suspended from parliament.

Banerjee is a miser when it comes to that.

So what could have been the reason for this move, and also the decision to not join hands with the Congress party? Two notable developments in recent months may have led to this development. The more

significant of the two are the comfortable relations between Mamata and the Governor CV Ananda Bose. Compared with the acerbic relations the Chief Minister had with the previous governor Jagdeep Dhankhar there is a sea change. Has Mamata made peace with the Centre after the Enforcement Directorate and CBI inquiry against her nephew Abhishek Banerjee?

During the recent Budget session, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attacked Akhilesh Yadav for allegedly owning real estate in London and Australia. If the UP CM could spill the beans on the floor of the House, the investigating agencies must surely be having a dossier on the SP chief. Are TMC and SP, therefore, driven by fear?

New Delhi (PTI): BJP president J P Nadda on Sunday accused Rahul Gandhi of overstepping all bounds of democracy and said he should be sent packing “lock, stock and barrel” in a democratic manner. “Those who do not believe in democracy have no place in democracy,” Nadda said after inaugurating the ‘National Youth parliament’ of his party’s youth wing Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, being held in Chennai. The Congress has become mentally bankrupt, Nadda said while alleging that Gandhi “instigated” foreign powers like the US and European countries to interfere in India’s internal affairs by claiming that they were “oblivious” while democracy was under threat in India.

Opposition front to take on the BJP is possible without the Congress and if a coalition is formed for the 2024 general elections, the party will have a central role in it, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has said.

In an interview with PTI, Ramesh, however, said it was too early to talk about all this right now as the Congress' first priority was the upcoming elections in Karnataka and the string of state polls this year.

‘LIKE CONG, BJP WILL BE FINISHED FOR MISUSING CENTRAL AGENCIES’

SP President Akhilesh Yadav with party leaders on Sunday.

New Delhi (PTI): Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday asserted that the BJP would be politically finished in the days to come, "just like the Congress", for allegedly misusing central agencies against opposition parties. Yadav also pressed for the caste census which, he said, would be a major issue in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. "Earlier, the Congress used to misuse the central agencies, and now the BJP is doing the same. Congress is now finished. The BJP, too, will meet a similar fate," he said.

Ramesh's remarks come after both Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Uttar Pradesh's Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP) saying the two parties would stay away from both the Congress and the BJP, and indicating possible talks with other regional players ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

AAP leader demands apology from Kiren Rijiju for ‘anti-India’ remark

New Delhi (PTI): Senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Sunday condemned Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks in the UK, saying the Congress leader owed an apology to Parliament and the entire country.

In a statement, the former Union minister also hit out at the Congress and its leaders, accusing them of running a “deliberate drive” to denigrate the country’s Parliament, Constitutional institutions and democratic values.

Gandhi’s remarks has triggered a massive political row, with the BJP accusing him of maligning India on foreign soil and seeking foreign interventions and the Congress hitting back, citing instances of Prime Minister Modi raising internal politics abroad.

New Delhi (Agencies): With the whole of last week’s parliamentary proceedings having been washed out without transacting any business, owing to disruptions by treasury benches and opposition members, the Indian Government only has two weeks to get the Union budget for 2023-2024 passed in Parliament.

As per norms, the Union budget needs to be passed in both Houses of Parliament before the end of the financial year, i.e. prior to March 31, 2023.

Therefore, in the

forthcoming week starting from Monday, the government may try to get the process of budget clearance started. Normally, demands grants for some key ministries like railways and agriculture are taken up for discussion and voting in Lok Sabha.

New Delhi (ANI): Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj on Sunday said that Union Law minister Kiren Rijiju should apologise over his remarks for calling some of the retired judges "anti-India".

Saurabh Bhardwaj said, "Now for him to say that judges are antiIndia, it is very shameful. Kiren Rijiju should apologize to the whole country that he is calling the SC judges antiIndia." "Kiren Rijiju should not cross the 'Lakshman Rekha'. It is unfortunate that despite being a Law Minister, he crossed this

'Lakshman Rekha'. Today the country is proud of its Supreme Court. Get a survey done all over the country, today there is only one institution in which people have faith, and that is the Supreme Court," he said.

Earlier, Union Law Rijiju made the remark at a public event. "A few retired judges have now become activists and are part of the anti-India gang where they are trying to turn the judiciary against the government," he had said.

Process of eviction of enemy properties starts

New Delhi (PTI): The Union Home Ministry has started the process for eviction and sale of enemy properties, the immovable assets left behind by people who have taken citizenship of Pakistan and China.

There are a total of 12,611 establishments called enemy property, roughly estimated to be worth over Rs 1 lakh crore, in the country.

According to a Home ministry notification, the guidelines for dis-

posal of the enemy properties have been changed under which

the process for eviction of enemy properties now shall be initiated

The enemy properties are vested with the Custodian of Enemy Property for India, an authority created under the Enemy Property Act

with the help of the District Magistrate or Deputy Commissioner con-

cerned before the sale of properties.

In case of the enemy properties valued below Rs 1 crore, the custodian shall offer for purchase to the occupant first and if offer of purchase is refused by the occupant, then the enemy property shall be disposed of in accordance with the procedure specified in the guidelines.

Earlier the union govt had sold movable enemy properties like shares and gold.

Asked whether the TMC and SP's actions could jolt Opposition unity, Ramesh said, "The TMC, Samajwadi, people keep meeting, the Third Front, Fourth Front will continue to be formed, but it is necessary to have the Congress in the Opposition."

SEBI STARTS TAKING STRICTER APPROACH IN IPO CLEARANCE

New Delhi (PTI): Banking mutual funds have lost up to 6% in the last week following the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank that dented investors’ sentiment in the banking and financial services space.

The failure of the two US-based banks sent shockwaves across the global financial system and weakened the sentiments in the banking sector in India too, wherein shares took a beating and declined in the range of 3-13% in the week under review.

However, experts believe that the direct impact on the Indian banking sector

was negligible to low. The incessant selling in the bank stocks is clearly reflected in the banking sector mutual funds, as evident from the shortterm performance returns of the 16 schemes under the category.

Of the 16 banking sector mutual funds, all of them have given negative returns to investors in the range of 1.6% to 6% in the week ended March 17, according to an analysis of data compiled by ACE MF Nxt.

So far this year, these funds have given negative returns ranging from 8% to 10%, the data showed.

Nagpur: Taking a tough stand on complaints against content on OTT platforms, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on Sunday said vulgarity and abusive language was not acceptable in the name of creativity.

Addressing a press conference here, Thakur said the government had taken a serious view on complaints of vulgarity and abusive language in content on OTT platforms and will not hesitate to take tough

action to stop this trend.

"These platforms were given freedom for creativity and not for obscenity and when one crosses the limit, then hurling abuses in the name of creativity can-

not be accepted at all," Thakur said.

"If there is a need to change the rules, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will not hesitate. It will take tough action to

stop vulgarity and abusive language," the minister said.

In January, Thakur had batted for creative autonomy and said adequate safeguards were in place to monitor con-

"Creativity should not be reined in, it should have autonomy. But it should not be too much that anything can be shown. We have kept adequate provisions and till date they are working fine," Thakur had said on January 15 while participating in the 75th anniversary celebrations of 'Panchajanya' weekly, the RSS mouthpiece.

On Sunday, Thakur said there was a threestage mechanism to deal with content on OTT platforms.

"As per the current procedure, producers have to address complaints about the content first and then they go to their association. When a complaint reaches the government (I&B department), strict action is taken as per rules," he said.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday said necessary infrastructure will be created for courts and funds will be allocated on priority to ensure timely justice to common people.

Speaking at the inauguration of the new annex building of the district and sessions court in Nyay Mandir, Fadnavis said the state government has sanctioned the construction of 40 new courts and residential buildings.

The nine-storey annex building was built at a cost of Rs 160 crore and it will help the courts to increase their efficiency, he said.

"Facilities and wellequipped buildings are required to speed up the process of justice. Efforts will also be made at the government level to reduce the number of cases in courts," the

deputy chief minister said.

Necessary infrastructure will be created for courts and funds will be allocated on priority to ensure that common people get timely justice, he said.

Supreme Court Justice Bhushan Gavai, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Acting Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Sanjay Gangapurwala, Justices Sunil Shukre, A S Chandurkar, Valmiki Men-

ezes among other dignitaries were present on the occasion. Gadkari in his address said the use of modern technology will make the judiciary more effective and citizens will get instant justice. Justice Gavai further said that the purpose of judiciary, law and executives is to give justice to common citizens. "Everyone should get justice in time and at minimum cost," he opined.

Mumbai: The meeting in the village of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was heavily discussed in political circles for the past few days. On March 5, Uddhav Thackeray criticised the Shinde group in a meeting held in the village. In response, Shinde attacked Uddhav Thackeray in harsh words in his speech in the village meeting on Sunday.

Shinde said that Uddhav betrayed the thoughts of Balasaheb who did not even stand up to the Congress and NCP. Meanwhile, he also told the audience about an incident that happened in the 2019 election.

Shinde has warned Uddhav and said, “No one should think that I do not know anything if I do not speak. There is a limit to tolerance.

Once a person goes beyond that, all the barriers break down.”

“During the 2019 elections, my mother was undergoing treatment in the hospital. I had left for Palghar to campaign. Then I got a call

from the doctor. All my preparations were done, it was necessary to go to the meeting. Even though I knew everything, I told the doctor that I would reach in the evening. Mother was almost gone, but I reached the hospital after completing their meeting,”said Shinde.

“After all this, how can you call us traitors”, asked Shinde. “Is it our crime to fulfill the duty? Is it our crime to

go to hospital wearing PPE kit during Covid?

This Eknath Shinde contacted corona virus twice. But I did not back down. I never answer accusation with accusation,” said Shinde.

Meanwhile, Shinde also said that due to the work of Ramdas Kadam’s son Yogesh Kadam, the deposits of others will be confiscated in the election. “We have decided to have a big authority for Konkan on the lines of MMRDA.

Everyone has seen the love of Yogesh Kadam. So no one has the courage to overthrow him. He will do so much work in the next one and a half years that the deposits of who contest against him, will be confiscated,” he said.

Aurangabad: At least six districts of Marathwada reported crop losses on more than 62000 hectares of land due to unseasonal rainfall, an official said on Sunday. The losses had occurred because of showers that lashed the Marathwada region since March 14, the official said.

Crops on 62480.30 hectares of land in six districts were damaged due to rains in just five days, he said.

As per a report issued by the divisional commissioner’s office, the region received 5.2 mm average rainfall on Saturday and Sunday, which led to losses in Aurangabad (7762.50 ha), Parbhani (2400 ha), Hingoli (5604 ha), Nanded (23554 ha), Beed

(11365 ha), Latur (11794 ha). No losses were recorded in Jalna and Osmanabad districts, the report said.

At least six people died in rain-related incidents in the last five days. Of these, five casualties were reported in Parbhani and one in Latur, it said. Apart from this, 21 small and 55 large animals also died amid rains in the region.

Mumbai: Leader of Shinde group Ramdas Kadam strongly attacked Thackeray group chief Uddhav Thackeray. Kadam made many revelations about how Uddhav tried to end the Kadam family politically. Meanwhile, he targeted the Thackeray group by mentioning hotels in Sri Lanka, Singapore and London.

“How to end Yogesh Kadam? For this, a con-

spiracy was being hatched by the Thackeray group. Uday Samant was also in that group then. Balasaheb Thackeray used to take care of a tiger like Ramdas Kadam, the differ-

“The Ramdas Kadam who enhanced your stature, aren't you ashamed that you are accusing us? Whose hotels are in Sri Lanka? Whose hotel is in Singapore? Whose hotel is in London? Who owns properties in America? Ramdas Kadam will not rest until this is brought before the people of Maharashtra one day,” questioned Kadam.

Latur: Former Maharashtra Minister Chhagan Bhujbal said on Sunday that Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar tried to create equality in the country by drafting the Constitution and it is every citizen’s responsibility to protect it.

Addressing a gathering in Latur on Saturday, Bhujbal said if anyone tampers with the Constitution and commits injustice, Bhim soldiers should always

be ready to fight.

Dr Ambedkar taught us to educate, organise and agitate. Accordingly, bahujan people should get education and work for the betterment of the society, Bhujbal said.

“Efforts are being made to spread Manuwad again in the country. Casteism is being practised. We must fight against it. Bhim sainiks have the strength to raise their voices against injustice and struggle,” the NCP leader said.

ESCAPE REALITY AND ENTER THE CIRCUS WORLD

he magic and poetry of the circus have long stimulated the imaginations of artists. They drew inspiration from this fantastical world for the fashion world and brought beauty live from the majestic circus, featuring the beauty of acrobats from the all-feing on, and things flying everywhere. The circus has many moving parts, but everything is completely controlled and orderly.

To use the metaphor correctly, life is a circus with many moving components that all function as they should. It is full of adventure, chaos and laughter. Too much going on, and things flying everywhere, but everything is

completely steady and tidy. It allows one to be logical and unreal at the same time. Not only lessons but glamour is a major attraction of the circus. We know that, in the circus, all is possible: there can be a man with two heads or a character with a green face. When we say that some fashion designers have actually brought the carnival to town through the best of imagination. The beautiful amalgamation of fun with glamour is called Circus fashion. Dressing up like a clown and looking like the chicest sad weirdos with stunning designs and dazzling hair and makeup.

Ruffles, supersized dimensions, and bespoke pastel hair are greatly appreciated. There are plenty of runway looks to draw inspiration from, but non-performers may find them too over the top, even without the red nose. Dressing up like beautiful acrobats with hot short dresses and pretty cool makeup is something out of this world. You can also carry this look to give a more stunning look, wild animals like horses and elephants and cute birds are embroidered on outfits with rhinestones, along with cages. Even animal-inspired accessories and makeup inspired by the character of the white clown, with the eyes of models defined with black liner can give a chic look to the themed attire.

YOGA: A SECRET MANTRA TO PREVENT FRAILTY

Asystematic review of 33 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) found that yoga improved gait speed and lower extremity strength in inactive older people. However, yoga did not seem to of fer a benefit for frailty markers over activi ties like exercise or tai chi. The review is published in nals of Internal Med icine.

IS FRAILTY A COMMON DISEASE OF THE ELDERLY?

Older adults have an increased burden of chronic disease, disa bility, and frailty. Frail ty affects up to 50 per cent of adults aged 80 years and older, and its prevention and manage ment are high-priority areas in public health and clinical practice. Yoga may be a preven tion and management strategy and is already used to improve balance and mobility in older adults.

ROLE OF YOGA IN FRAILTY PREVENTION

Researchers from Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School reviewed 33 RCTs comprised of 2,384 participants aged 65 years or older to evaluate the available trial evi dence on the effect of yoga-based interventions on frailty in older adults. impacts on frailty markers including measures of gait speed, handgrip strength, balance, lower extremity strength and endur ance, and multi-compo nent physical perfor mance measures.

The authors found that when compared to education-only or inactive control groups, there was moderate evidence that yoga improved gait speed and lower body strength and endurance. The benefits of balance and handgrip strength were less certain. While there was no clear advantage for a particular style of yoga, the authors suggest clinicians may consider recommending Iyengar-based styles, with a home practice, that can be customized for older adult populations. These findings add to the growing literature

He performed the song in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Re ally impressive, no? He had excellent and accurate pronun ciation in every language, ac cording to internet users.

Anand on Mother's Day!

Anand posted an adorable photo of Sonam and Vayu from their naming ceremony. Twining in yellow, Sonam can be seen in the photo cradling her newborn baby son in her arms and giving him an adorable gaze. All things cute, the post was about Sonam enjoying her first Mother's Day, so Anand wrote a lengthy note for her along with it. Adorable isn't it?

His post read, "I have to admit and Son am can verify, that emotional/social awareness is not a strength of mine. As a result, it’s taken me seeing what @ sonamkapoor has done over the past 17 months (and even longer) in ensuring the best emotional and physical health of herself and our baby to understand the levels of commit ment and selfless ness it takes to be a full-time mom.

In an age when we all have been accustomed to immediate reward systems, committing to motherhood does mean giving endlessly over and above that system".

Speaking of how he has nailed the song in all five languages he said, "People are considering it as a new concept but I have been doing this for several years now. And about languages, it helps you better way to understand people. When I was singing it in one language I wanted to try in more and eventually it happened".

Talking about getting overnight attention, he explained, "You know when we travel by train there are so many junctions which come to reach your destination, small or big. I have been practising and working hard for this throughout the years. But it is getting recog-

nised now so it's a big junction phase which is going on right now. But the way I see it is, I still have not reached the destination and this is just one milestone which I have achieved."

Speaking of what destination is he said, " I need what a singer needs, the Love and the recognition of the audience and the media. What matters the most to an artist is that people should respect and appreciate his art and I want the same for me".

When asked what inspires him to do it, is it a family member or it's a passion?

Snehdeep said, " My mother performs kirtan in the gurudwara and everyone from my mother's side performs kirtan there, be it playing or singing. So I think I have grown up seeing that and eventually I fell in love with it. But what really made me do it when I logged in to Instagram and that one thought which struck me was what I want to post and what kind of creativity I can portray! And during my engineering in Ahmedabad, I learned from a guru for four and half a years. I had learned classical music from him, after which when I shifted to Bangalore I continued practising it".

Speaking of getting offers and love from the fans, he said, " Of fers will come and go but the love, I am getting is in deed the most beautiful thing to experience and I want to say that I am very thank ful and grateful for the amount of love which has come my way".

When asked how his relationship with Helen has changed over time in a recent interview, Arbaaz Khan recounted how his father Salim Khan had introduced her to his family. Arbaaz claimed that their father had instructed them to treat Helen with "the same respect" as their mother Salma Khan. Salim informed them that he did not want them to love Helen as much as they love their mother, but to somehow understand that Helen 'is a part of his life now'.

Opening up about his equation with his second ‘mother’, Helen Aunty, Arbaaz Khan told said, "We have been together for a long time now and are very close to Helen Aunty. Actually now it's been so many years with Helen Aunty but we still call her Helen Aunty because that's how it is. But obviously, she's our mother. The divorce between Malaika and Arbaaz was finalised in 2017. Their son Arhaan Khan continues to be raised by both of them. In 2019, Malaika and Arjun Kapoor made their relationship official and ever since they have been giving us some major couple goals. Opening up about dating a younger
