147 hurt while attempting physical test for jobs with Mumbai fire dept

Mumbai: Their search for employment in the Mumbai Fire Brigade has left 147 candidates injured, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said in a release.

While 142 received minor injuries, five aspirants had to be hospitalized for broken bones sustained during physical tests held as part of the ongoing recruitment drive. Most of these injuries occurred when the candidates were jumping off a 19-foot-high platform onto a safety sheet held by trained firemen, it added.
