President Murmu urges all citizens to consider voting as their contribution to nation-building
New Delhi (PTI): As the Election Commission aims to ensure 75 per cent voter turnout in future elections, President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday urged people to consider voting as their contribution to nation-building. She said people must vote with the spirit of “nation paramount”.
Addressing an event, she said it is a great achievement of India’s election process and democracy that the active participation of women in the democratic pro- cess is continuously increasing. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the number of women voters was slightly higher than that of men. She noted that for the first time in the history of Indian Parliament, the total number of women MPs in both the Houses together have reached the 115 mark.

Copter With Ravi Shankar Makes Emergency Halt
New Delhi: A helicopter carrying Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar & 3 others made an emergency landing at the Ukiniyin tribal hamlet in Tamil Nadu's Erode district on Wednesday. The spiritual leader was travelling to Tirupur from Bengaluru. The other people in the chopper were two of his assistants and the pilot. Sources told that the helicopter made the emergency landing due to poor weather conditions and the pilot complained of difficulty in navigating.

30 Cbi Officers Get Police Medals
Thirty CBI officers were awarded police medals on Wednesday. Six officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) were awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPMDS) while 24 were awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PMMS).
Mixed Doubles Final
New Delhi: Tata Motors on Wednesday reported a consolidated net profit of `3,043 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2022, on account of robust sales across markets. The Mumbai-based auto major had reported a net loss of `1,451 crore in the October-December quarter of the previous fiscal. Total income increased to `88,489 crore in the period under review from `72,229 crore in the year-ago period, Tata Motors said in a regulatory filing released on Wednesday. —PTI
