Sikar: The annual Lakkhi fair of Khatu Shyam ji is going on in full swing in Sikar. The number of devotees was high on Sunday.

About 4 lakh devotees visited the fair till 7 pm.

The collector said that he along with SP Karan Sharma and Dantaramgarh ADM Pratibha Verma took stock of the arrangements from Ringas to Khatu. The collector said that there is a strong arrangement of medical camps, stores and toilets at various places along the way. The collector also appealed to the devotees not to do padayatra at night.

Woman, two children killed in road mishap in Bundi

Bundi: Two children and a woman were killed in Bundi on Sunday after a tractor collided head-on with a car, police said. Police informed the deceased has been identified as Rina Saini (40) and her two sons Krishna and Keshav.

“The incident took place near the Durgapu- ra area under the Dablana Police Station area. The victims were heading towards Bundi from Chauth Ka Barwara when the car collided with a tractor. The collision was so strong that all three of them died on the spot. The bodies have been kept in the mortuary of Hindoli hospital. The post-mortem will be conducted today,” police said.

Season 3 was held in Bharatpur on Saturday at Heritage Hotel Grand Barso, in which First India honoured the people who brought laurels to the district with their excellent work. Meanwhile, the Radha Vallabh group of Braj Dham gave a magnificent performance of Mayur Pushp Holi.

Tourism Minister Vishvendra Singh praised the programme by First India and said that First India always takes a lead in organising social events. Singh said that he has known Channel Head Dr Jagdeesh Chandra for a long time and praised him for giving a new direction to the media.

Minister of State for Technical Education Dr Subhash Garg said that he had also participated in First India’s Coronavirus Samman ceremony. He said Singh and all other MLAs are working to take Bharatpur forward.

Bharatpur Divisional Commissioner Sanwarmal Verma said that such events provide a platform to people to do excellent work on social front. District Collector Alok Ranjan also appreciated the event and thanked Dr Jagdeesh Chandra.
