THE INDIAN TRAFFIC CHAOS
This may appear as a tall order but it’s doable provided it catches the attention of our decision makers, at apex levels. I sincerely hope that our traffic system changes for the good and driving experience becomes a pleasure. HOPE SOMEONE CARES!!!!
While travelling on Ajmer Road to Jaipur, on 15 May 2023, I got stuck into traffic Jam caused by JAN SANGARSH YATRA by local politicians. Thousands of people on scooter, bikes, cars, buses, trucks and tractors blocked a stretch of 15 km of this national highway throwing the entire traffic out of gear. It took me 04 hours to cover a distance of 20 kms which normally takes 30 minutes. There were many like me who missed a doctor’s appointment or a flight or a train or an urgent meeting. Ambulances with patients on life support were also stuck for hours. All these helpless commuters suffered immense misery in the heat and consequent stress. Who Cares!!
In the recent past, highways and rail tracks have been blocked for not only hours or days but months by political agitations. The Kissan Andolan laid seize to national capital, blocking all roads to Delhi, for almost a year creating unprecedented misery to road users. Similar actions by CAA protesters, Jaat or Gujjar reservation andolans caused untold hardships to daily commuters and financial loss of thousands of crores to the national economy.

HORRENDOUS DRIVING EXPERIENCE
For an average Indian citizen driving is equivalent to waging a daily war. It is not easy to drive among Lorries, Buses, tractors,
Several people are expressing their joy on #MyParliamentMyPride. Through very emotional voice-overs they are conveying a spirit of pride that our nation is getting a new Parliament which will keep working to fulfil people’s aspirations with more vigour.
Autos, Bikes, e-rickshaws, Bicycles, handcarts, Animals and Humans. It’s very aptly said that if you drive on Indian roads and come back home without raising your anger quotient, voice or blood pressure, you have truly attained NIRVANA.
CONCEPTUAL LOGJAM
SLOW/FAST: There is total lack of conceptual clarity and policy coordination in India, with regards to traffic management. While the National Highways Authority is busy making 6-8 lane super highways, the police take great pleasure to barricade it and reduce it to single lane at so many places. The decision makers in the country have not been able to decide whether they want us to go FAST or SLOW.
Roadspace Vs Registration: India’s road networks have grown by about 30% over the
WHILE TRAVELLING ON AJMER ROAD TO JAIPUR, ON 15 MAY 2023, I GOT STUCK INTO TRAFFIC JAM CAUSED BY JAN SANGARSH YATRA BY LOCAL POLITICIANS. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ON SCOOTER, BIKES, CARS, BUSES, TRUCKS AND TRACTORS BLOCKED A STRETCH OF 15 KM OF THIS NATIONAL HIGHWAY THROWING THE ENTIRE TRAFFIC OUT OF GEAR. IT TOOK ME 04 HOURS TO COVER A DISTANCE OF 20 KMS WHICH NORMALLY TAKES 30 MINUTES
past decade, whereas vehicle registrations have risen by almost three times, at the annual rate of 10%. An average of 57,300 new vehicles are added every day. There is no coordination between road space management and vehicle registration agencies.
Bus Lanes: The learned policy makers created bus lanes in major cities, aping the European concept and wasting crores of taxpayer’s money. Sheer waste of precious road space and Govt money. But Who Cares!!
SPEED BREAKERS –SYMBOL OF POWER
If you leave the expressway and move into state highways/village roads, you will find speedbreakers almost at every KM. Highways have been mercifully spared by the Court orders. Speed-breakers are taken as a
symbol of power, where in all passing vehicles slow down to pay obeisance in front of high and mighty. It has been proved that speed-breakers cause more accidents rather then saving them. But Who Cares!!
DRIVING LICENSEA FARCE
When you see the way people drive on the road, you often wonder who gave them the license to drive? Research shows that only 41% of drivers have taken the driving test — A dangerous trend, really. Kids of about 10 years or so are given vehicles to drive solo on highways. Most drivers are armed with a license, without knowing the ABC of driving.
MECHANICAL FITNESS OF VEHICLES
Mechanical fitness or roadwor-
We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world. Buddha
thiness of vehicles is no consideration in India. We often find very old vehicles about to collapse, moving on the road. Mechanical failures are a major cause of accidents, in addition to human error but this aspect is totally neglected. Again, Who Cares!!
INEFFECTIVE TRAFFIC POLICE
Any rule or law is as powerful as its enforcement. The traffic police across the country is mostly ineffective with a few exceptions. Police is not to control traffic but to catch the defaulters. Two wheeler riders and tractor drivers are their brethren and exempted from obeying all rules. The police considers speed as the biggest crime. The fault is always of the person having larger and faster moving vehicle. Vehicles moving in opposite directions are by ignorant people committing no offence. If that be our enforcement motto, how can traffic management improve in the country? Who Cares!!
CONCLUSION
The traffic management is pathetic with understaffed and inefficient police force. The priorities are misplaced and road blockades for political reasons have no answers. The number of accidents on the roads is mindboggling. Sooner or later, decision makers will have to address the traffic menace. This may appear as a tall order but it’s doable provided it catches the attention of our decision makers, at apex levels. I sincerely hope that our traffic system changes for the good and driving experience becomes a pleasure. HOPE SOMEONE CARES!!!!

WHY HAS NITISH KUMAR BECOME A 'PAIN' FOR BJP?

CM GEHLOT TO INSPECT INFLATION
RELIEF CAMP IN DIDWANA TODAY
W
hen a friend becomes unfaithful, how much hatred and resentment erupts in a person, this could be understood with the 'relationship' of Nitish Kumar and the BJP. Nitish feels that BJP has backstabbed him. That's why JDU with 80 seats was reduced to 40 seats this time in Bihar assembly elections. BJP understands that Nitish is all for personal benefit. The saffron party has already started preparing for the 2024 general elections. The BJP's prospects are looking bleak in the initial trends, so BJP strategists want to teach a lesson to Nitish and his close ones by any means. Especially at a time when Nitish is emerging as the biggest champion of the opposition unity. So, the BJP has already made elaborate arrangements to corner Rajeev Ranjan alias Lallan Singh, one of Nitish's closest aides, in his stronghold Munger.
VIJAY GOEL'S WINNING LYRICS
RCP Singh, who was once the most important political 'hand' of Nitish Kumar, can be used as a big weapon against Lallan. So, BJP's strategy is to make RCP field against Lallan from Munger in 2024 elections and if saffron strategy doesn't work then RCP can be fielded from Nalanda also. RCP belongs to Koiri caste and both Munger & Nalanda have a large number of Koiri votes which have potential to turn the tide. Now let us mention Rajiv Ranjan, who has been BJP's media incharge and party vice-prez. He was in JDU in 2010 but he joined BJP in 2014 elections.
Now he has returned and again in Nitish's court. Nitish wants to make him a candidate from his home constituency Nalanda, because Rajeev Ranjan has a lot of hold on Kurmi votes. So BJP has only one medicine for both Rajeev Ranjans, that is RCP, so he can be fielded from either Munger or Nalanda.
N ow Delhi University has shifted Gandhi from its syllabus from fourth to seventh semester and now Savarkar has replaced Gandhi in fourth semester. Similarly, the reins of running the prestigious Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Committee in Delhi was handed over to Vijay Goel, an enthusiastic leader of the Delhi BJP, whose compatibility with Gandhi's philosophy and his thoughts is an incomplete story. Goyal used to be close to Atal Bihari Vajpayee because Chandni Chowk's Jalebi was Atal ji's weakness and Chandni Chowk was Goyal ji's own constituency, which made his relationship with Atal ji reach a new sweetness.
Recently, a meeting of district executive of the party was held at the BJP district office in Anand Vihar. There is also a facility to stay in this office, so Delhi incharge Pawan Rana, who was coming from Himachal, reached here late at night. Obviously there was no shortage in his service.
HOW WILL KAMAL NATH LOOK AT THE LOTUS LIKE THIS?
A fter hoisting the victory flag in Karnataka, the Congress has entered the electoral fray in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh with the same high spirits. The initial trends of the opinion polls of Madhya Pradesh have made the Congress move in Bhopal extremely enthusiastic. So, Kamal Nath, the head of the Congress in Bhopal, has already started finalizing the tickets for the Congress candidates there. Needless to say that Kamal Nath's close friends have become elated due to this single kingdom of ticket distribution. On the other hand, Digvijay Singh has suffered the biggest blow due to this excessive enthusiasm of Kamal Nath. After Jyotiraditya Scindia left the Congress ground, Digvijay felt that at least in Gwalior division, he would be able to get tickets for his people, but Kamal Nath is not listening to anyone. If the tussle between the big leaders of the party continues like this, the Congress' possibilities can also be eclipsed here.

C ongress is soon going to announce its new state chief in Delhi. Although there are many names in the race, right from JNU fame Kanhaiya Kumar to civil society politicians Sandeep Dixit and Devendra Yadav, but it is said that Kanhaiya Kumar has the strongest claim. Firstly, he is a big fan of Rahul, he speaks well, especially his stand on BJP is very aggressive. He belongs to Bihar and Delhi has a large population of Purvanchali voters.
The Aam Aadmi Party has also looted Delhi's ground by giving tickets to Bihari candidates in bulk and BJP has also tried hard to woo Purvanchali voters in Delhi by keeping Manoj Tiwari's face in front. On the other hand, Kanhaiya Kumar is also very popular among the Muslim voters because of his impeccable speech.

But since the time Satyendar Jain came to the jail, he had given up food, due to which his weight was reduced by 35 kg. It also caused weakness, due to which he fell down in the bathroom due to dizziness and his spinal cord was injured. It is said that when he was taken to LNJP Hospital under Delhi Government for treatment, the doctors there put him on waiting for 6 months, perhaps this became the biggest reason for him getting bail.
