due to a punctured tyre when the SUV rammed it from behind in the dead of the night. Half of the car was pulled out in a mangled state from under the truck later by police officials, he said. All victims were returning home to their village in Kunda in the district after attending a wedding

in Nawabganj, the police official said, adding that all help has been assured to the families of the victims. Five bodies were recovered soon after the crash whereas the rest of the bodies were pulled out after the crumbled car was retrieved from under the truck, which took almost two hours.

Jaipur: Known for his immaculate timing when it comes to opening a front against the rival camp, senior Congress leader and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday cornered the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), in his now famous style of verbal ‘war’, when he alleged that “Love Jihad” is a word manufactured by the BJP to divide the nation and disturb communal harmony. With BJP governments in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh saying that they are considering enactment of laws to curb

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot

such marriages, Gehlot hit back strongly at what he considers a “ploy to divide people”. Gehlot, who often uses social media platform to take on the saffron party, took to twitter and said that marriage is a personal decision and the BJP is

putting curbs on it. “Love Jihad is a word manufactured by the BJP to divide the nation and disturb communal harmony. Marriage is a matter of personal liberty, bringing a law to curb it is completely unconstitutional and it will not stand in any

court of law. Jihad has no place in love,” Gehlot tweeted. “They are creating an environment in the nation where consenting adults would be at the mercy of state power. Marriage is a personal decision and they are putting curbs on it, which is like snatching away personal liberty,” he said in another tweet. Gehlot said it seemed to be a “ploy to disrupt communal harmony, fuel social conflict and disregard constitutional provisions like the state not discriminating against citizens on any ground”.
