New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the countrymen should not forget that the lockdown may be over but the virus that causes the Coronavirus disease is still around as he addressed the nation. “It has been a long journey from Janta Curfew to now. Economic activities are also increasing. Many people have started going out of their houses. The festival season is around and markets too have been full of buzz,” said PM Modi. The prime minister then highlighted the strides made by the country in the battle against Covid-19, but said that the number of cases are increasing in other parts if the world. He asked the people of the country to be care-
ful. “Recent videos show that people are becoming very lax with the precautions we take. Videos show that people are being irresponsible and not taking the steps advised to a very large extent. This cannot happen,” he said. “We must not think that things are normal again. You are putting yourselves, your families, children and elders in your home in grave danger by not taking the proper precautions,” PM added.

Wayanad: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday stepped up his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the military standoff with China in eastern Ladakh, telling him the nation wants to know when will the Chinese troops be thrown out of Indian territory. “The prime minister will not say one word about China”, the Wayanad MP, who is on a three day visit to his parliamentary constituency, told a news conference here. Gandhi was responding to questions, including one about Modi’s announcement that he will share a message with the nation at 6 pm on Tuesday. “ I don’t think there’s any other country in the world today where a foreign power can take land from the country and then no answer from the leadership. This is shocking to me....So what I would like is the prime minister to tell the nation

ing to be kicked out of India? That’s what I want to know. But I guarantee you that the prime minister won’t have the guts to say that”, he said when asked about Modi’s address to the Nation later this evening. of Punjab government. The state government will call a special session of the Assembly in the first week of November for the purpose. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Chief Minis-

Congress President Sonia Gandhi and party leader Rahul Gandhi had instructed the Congress-ruled state governments to call the Assembly session and pass a resolution to bypass the laws of the Centre in their respective states. However, the Punjab government, on Tuesday, passed a resolution against the Centre’s Laws in a special session of the Assembly. Also, three new bills were passed by Punjab Assembly. On receiving this information, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot
immediately convened a meeting of the Council of Ministers and asked to take a decision for Rajasthan on the lines of Punjab itself. Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had moved the resolution in the Assembly, under which the government has passed three new laws which included different provisions from the Centre. During the meeting on Tuesday, the Council of Ministers empha-
