AN IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS OF IAS TRANSFER LIST!

Rajendra Chhabra

Jaipur: The Chief Minister has done major changes in the state’s bureaucracy through the jumbo transfer list shuffling 74 officials. An attempt has been made to bring a clean and result oriented the administration on the top level. Departments like Mines, UDH, Medical, LSG, Irrigation etc have been handed to ‘new’ officials.

The main officials who have been ‘gainer’ in the list are Veenu Gupta, Shubhra Singh, Naveen Jain, Jogaram, T. Ravikant, Mahesh Chandra Sharma, Pukhraj Sen, Meghraj Singh Ratnu and Bharti Dixit. Meanwhile, the losers include Kunji Lal Meena, Dinesh Kumar, Prithvi Raj, Alok Gupta, Karan Singh, Vishram Meena, Jitendra Kumar Soni, Shakti Singh Rathore, Nakate Shivprasad, Anshdeep and Alok Ranjan. Jogaram, a silent and low profile performer, has been given the crucial assignment of JDA where he is to implement Gehlot and Dhariwal’s mandate to clean up and build up a new city.

Senior most ACS

Veenu Gupta has been made powerful by handing her the reins of the Mines department.

Shubhra Singh has returned to Jaipur after twelve years. She had left for Delhi in May 2011 and her sudden return has surprised everyone and several speculations are being made regarding the return. Mines department has been taken from Subodh Agarwal and he has been handed the Water Resources department. Notably, during Agarwal’s tenure of 34 months, Mines department earned a record eighteen thousand crore rupees in revenue!

Agriculture Minister

Lal Chand Kataria had been demanded the removal of Dinesh Kumar from his department and now Kataria’s demand has been addressed as Dinesh has been sent to a considerable low-key department like GAD.

After a long wait, finally Naveen Jain has been brought in the main stream by handing him the reins of School Education. Word is that he was not on ‘parallel’ with Ramesh Meena.

The mishandling of doctors’ strike by Prithvi Raj had put the state government in a spot and the doctors had made a condition of ending their strike that prithvi Raj be removed. Hence it was only a matter of time before the official as shown the door.

Although after playing a two year long innings, it was almost certain that Kunji Lal Meena will be changed from UDH, but it was also certain that he would be handed some important department. However, the Udaipur bribe case has dampened the hopes and Kunji Lal has been sent out of the Secretariat.

Meanwhile, Ravi Jain has now been shifted from JDA to another assignment and in his place Jogaram has been positioned in JDA.
