New Delhi (ANI): The government on Friday said the value of defence production in financial year (FY) 202223 has crossed the figure of Rs 1 lakh crore for the first time ever.
According to a statement from the ministry of defence, the value currently stands at Rs 1,06,800 crore and it will go further up once the data is received from the remaining private defence industries. The current value of defence production in FY 2022-23 is an increase of more than 12 per cent over FY 2021-22, when the figure was Rs 95,000 crore.
According to the statement, the government is continuously working with defence industries and their associations to remove the challenges faced by them and promote defence production in the country.
A number of policy reforms have been taken to achieve the objective of ease of doing busi- ness, including the integration of micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs) and startups into the supply chain. per cent blending of SAF in one flight, which will be taken to 1 per cent in all flights by mid-2025,” Puri said.
Due to these policies, the industries, including MSMEs and startups, are forthcoming in defence design, development and manufacturing and there is almost a 200 per cent increase in the number of defence licences issued to the industries in the last 7-8 years by the government, the ministry said.
“We will make this a 1% norm, then we will bring up it to 5%. All flights will operate with fuel with 1% of SAF once this norm comes in effect,” he added.
“By 2025, if we target to blend 1 per cent SAF blending in Jet fuel, India would require around 14 crore litre of SAF per annum. More ambitiously, if we target for 5% SAF blend, India required around 70 crore litre of SAF per annum”, the minister said.

ADANI-HINDENBURG CASE: SC PANEL REFUSES TO CONCLUDE THAT SEBI FAILED
New Delhi: The expert panel set up by the Supreme Court in the Adani-Hindenburg case refused to conclude in its report that there was a regulatory failure on part of SEBI. Hindenburg Research had accused Adani Group of stock manipulation. According to an Economic Times report, the committee, in its report, said that SEBI is currently investigating 13 transactions where it is trying to probe the underlying transactions to see if they were fraudulent in nature.
HC STAYS ORDER TERMINATING JOBS OF 32K TEACHERS
New Delhi: Delhi High Court on Friday dismissed an appeal challenging a single judge’s refusal to interfere with the demolition of a 55-year-old Kali temple which was found to be unauthorised and obstructing the free flow of traffic at Mayapuri Chowk here. A division bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra and Justice Subramonium Prasad refused to extend the time for shifting the idols and other religious objects from the temple to other temples.
HC DISMISSES PLEA TO HALT DEMOLITION OF KALI TEMPLE Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court Friday passed an interim stay on an earlier order terminating jobs of around 32,000 teachers in West Bengal government-sponsored and -aided primary schools till the end of September or until further orders. A single bench ordered the cancellation of appointment of around 32,000 candidates who had not completed training when they were recruited as teachers through a selection process in 2016 on the basis of TET 2014.
ARYAN KHAN CASE: SAMEER WANKHEDE APPROACHES BOMBAY HC AGAINST CBI FIR
Mumbai: Former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede on Friday approached the Bombay High Court against the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) action against him in the alleged bribery case in the drugs-on-cruise case involving actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan. Wankhede will appear before the CBI on Saturday. The Bombay HC will hear the matter on May 22. Notably, the HC granted protection from arrest to Wankhede till May 22.
