New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Friday, May 26, announced the prize money for the World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 cycle. 3.8 million US dollars will be shared among the nine teams taking part in tournament over the last two years. The purse remains the same as that of the WTC 2019-21. The winner of the WTC 2021-23 will take home 1.6 million US dollars while the runnersup will get 800,000 US dollars. The final of the WTC will be played between India Australia on June 7 at the Kennington Oval in London. India are the No.1 ranked team in Tests after they won the Border Gavaskar Trophy this year against Aussies.

New Delhi: Air India’s ultra long haul Delhi-Vancouver returned safely to the capital on Friday (May 26) morning two hours after take off due to a technical glitch. Sources say a passenger reportedly saw sparks from the right engine of the Boeing 777 (VT-ALM) that was operating as AI 185. Pilots then dumped fuel and then landed back in Delhi safely around 7.30 am. The airline said there was no bird hit.

New Delhi: British Airways cancelled dozens of flights for the second consecutive day on Friday citing an IT failure. At least 42 flights were cancelled today, due to the “knock-on effect of a technical issue”, which caused the staff to be sent to wrong location. Some 16,000 passengers have been affected by the cancellations, the outlet further said in its report. On Thursday, the airline was forced to delay or cancel 80 flights at Heathrow Airport.
