Jaipur: Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria on Monday has said that the state government has given instructions for special Girdawari to all the district collectors to assess the damage caused to rabi crops due to hailstorm, frost and cold wave. He said that the state govt is committed to provide proper compensation to farmers.

Kataria was giving a statement on behalf of the government in the Vidhan Sabha on Monday regarding the situation arising out of frost and cold wave. He said that in 2022-23, Rabi crop has been sown in 109.55 lakh hectare area. According to preliminary estimates, out of 29.65 lakh hectare sown area of wheat crop, about 42,000 hectare, out of 4.08 lakh hectare sown area of barley crop, 19,000 hectare, 20.57 lakh hectare of gram crop were sown. Out of the area of 2.25 lakh hectare, 2 to 40% has been damaged.He said that out of the total sown area of 39.36 lakh hectare of Mustard and Taramira, 2 to 65% damage has been done in 9.83 lakh hectare area.

Lumpy: No proposal yet for easy loan to cattle rearers

PHED MIN CORNERED OVER DELAY IN WATER PROJECTS, MINISTER SAYS ‘ACTION TAKEN’

Issue of appointing people with criminal tendencies as members of Waqf committees came up during the question hour in the State assembly on Monday. BJP MLA Pratap Singh Singhvi, while raising the matter of constitution of Chhabra Committee, said that on the basis of wrong affidavit some criminals have been included in the committee.
