“The law and order situation in Maharashtra is bad and the government is busy in the politics of revenge.
If you cannot handle law and order, Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis should resign,” she said.
Talking about the Koyta gang of Pune, Sule said, “The members of this gang are threatening women.
The way cases are be- ing reported, it looks like a complete failure of the state Home department. The ED (Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis) government is busy with vendetta politics and has no time to run the administration.”
Condemning the government for its failure, she said, “I condemn this government and the Home minister and want to ask him as to what is going on in the state.”
“The Home minister should answer. If he cannot handle the situation then he should resign,” asserted the NCP MP.
Konkan divisions recorded 86%, 86.23% and 91.02% voting, respectively, added Deshpande.
All eyes were on the Nashik division graduates seat, where the Congress saw a rebellion in its ranks in run-up to the polls. Three-time MLC Sudhir Tambe was the official Congress candidate from the seat, but he did not file his nomination papers.
As he opted out of the race, his son Satyajeet Tambe entered the fray as an independent. The Congress later suspended both of them. After casting his vote, Satyajeet Tambe claimed his victory was a forgone conclusion and what remains to be seen is the margin of win.
Differences had cropped up in the MVA over the polls. Earlier this month, Shiv Sena -UBT leader Sanjay Raut said the MLC polls have clearly shown confusion in the Opposition bloc. Later, MVA leaders sat together and ironed out differences.
In a viral video, Shastri is heard saying that Sant Tukaram’s wife used to beat him with a stick every day. Mitkari on Monday said, “If this fool does not know about the warkari sect, he should not speak or else the warkaris in Maharashtra will not think twice before giving him a befitting reply.” Mitkari sought an apology from Shastri over his remarks. “He should apologise or be ready to face the consequences,” the NCP leader said.
Lord Vitthal’s devotees, called the warkaris, undertake a pilgrimage every year to Pandharpur in Solapur district carrying the holy footprints of Sant Tukaram from Dehu in Pune.
Shastri is the head priest of Bageshwar Dham in Madhya Pradesh’s Gada village which attracts a large number of people. He claims to predict the future of people through chits. He is popularly called Bageshwar Dham Sarkar and has considerable followers in Madhya Pradesh as well as other parts of the country. Recently, rationalist Shyam Manav from Maharashtra challenged him to prove miracles.
