“Indira and Rajiv Gandhi killings were accidents”
Dehradun (ANI): The killings of former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi were not “martyrdom but accidents”, Uttarakhand Minister Ganesh Joshi said, stoking a political controversy.
The Minister said that there is a “difference between accident and martyrdom” and what happened with the two former prime ministers is betetr called an “accident”. “If you look at History, there is a dif- ference between accident and martyrdom.

Former PM Indira Gandhi was killed by her 2 Sikh bodyguards in 1984 as a revenge for military operation to flush out extremists from the Golden Temple.
Her son Rajiv Gandhi, who was the prime minister, was assassinated by Tamil Tiger rebels in 1991 during an election campaigning.

The banned WhatsApp accounts include 13.89 lakh accounts which were barred proactively before being flagged by users. In December, WhatsApp banned 37.16 lakh accounts, including 9.9 lakh accounts which were barred proactively.
MAJOR GEN GIRISH KALIA TAKES CHARGE AS GOC OF ARMY’S VAJR DIVISION
Srinagar (ANI): Major General Girish Kalia assumed charge as General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the elite Vajr Division from Major General Abhijit S Pendharkar, a Defence spokesperson said. Major Gen Girish Kalia was commissioned on 14 December 1991 from IMA, Dehradun into MADRAS Regiment, a spokesperson said. An alumnus of the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, the General Officer has attended all-important career courses at Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, Army War College, Mhow & National Defence College, New Delhi, he said.
