Mumbai: In an embarrassment for the Bharatiya Janata Party, Sudhakar Adbale— backed by the Maha Vikas Aghadi—claimed the Nagpur Teachers’ constituency seat in the Maharashtra Legislative Council with a 55% majority.
Understandably, BJP state unit president
Chandrashekhar Bawankule—who, along with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, is from Nagpur—is far from pleased. However, he was quick to point out that Nagorao Ganar’s loss is not a reflection of the BJP.
