Start-up ecosystem needs shift in mindset
New Delhi (PTI): The start-up ecosystem is witnessing robust growth and needs a shift in the mindset, a study undertaken by city-based CIEL HR Services said.

CIEL HR Services managing director Aditya Narayan Mishra in a statement said, “The start-up and entrepreneurship ecosystem in India is witnessing robust growth. When we at CIEL took a closer look at the system with a gender lens, we discovered that with the progress the challenges have also scaled.”
“What the ecosystem needs immediately is a shift in mindset and that is evident in CIEL’s study report. One of the recom- mendations is to promote entrepreneurship among students and also provide them the right facilities

Nafed To Begin Onion Procurement From 3 Mandis In Gujarat From Today
New Delhi: Cooperative Nafed will start procurement of kharif onion in Gujarat from Thursday from three mandis to provide relief to farmers, as prices have crashed in the wholesale markets, according to the Food and Consumer Affairs Ministry. Nafed will begin onion procurement from Bhavnagar, Gondal and Porbandar mandis in Gujarat from March 9. More centres will be opened from time to time as required, it said. “Farmers are requested to bring their good quality and dried stock to the procurement centres to avail better rates at these centres,” the ministry said. —PTI
Volatility In Steel Prices To Continue In Medium Term
New Delhi: The volatility in steel prices is likely to continue in the medium-term due to the impact of geopolitical situation on supply chain logistics, according to SteelMint. Last week, steel makers increased the prices of hot-rolled coil (HRC) by `1,400 to `60,700 per tonne. In the last six months, the steel prices have not been stable. “The volatility in the prices is likely to continue in the medium-term on account of geo-political situations across the globe impacting the supply chain,” SteelMint said. —PTI
CREDIT CARD OUTSTANDING RISES 29.6% IN JANUARY
New Delhi: The credit card outstanding in January rose 29.6% to reach an all-time high of `1.87 lakh crore on back of increased digitisation and rising consumer confidence in the post-Covid period. As per the latest data of the Reserve Bank, the credit card outstanding has recorded a growth of over 20% in the 10 months of the current fiscal. June had recorded the highest growth of 30.7%. On the monthly trends in credit card usage, there has been a consistent growth in the credit card spends for the last few months. —PTI
Ioc Keen To Develop Haldia Refinery Into Petrochemicals Complex
Kolkata: Oil marketing PSU Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is keen to develop its existing refinery in West Bengal’s Haldia into a petrochemicals complex for “sustaining operations profitably”, a company official said on Wednesday. Running a standalone refinery is “not sustainable in terms of profitability” for which it has to be supplemented by a petrochemicals complex, he said. “We want to set up a petrochemicals complex contiguous to the Haldia refinery whose current capacity is 8.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa)”, the company official said. —PTI
