First India Bureau Mumbai: The Karnataka government’s decision to block funds allocated by the Maharashtra government for border villages with significant Marathi population located in the southern state led to a ruckus in the Legislative Council here on Tuesday.

Danve questioned the silence of the ruling coalition in Maharashtra over the Karnataka government’s move.

While deputy chairperson of the Legislative Council Neelam Gorhe adjourned the proceedings for 10 minutes to mark the protest, she also observed that the Opposition leaders have behaved “irresponsibly and immaturely”.

Palghar: Body of a 28-yearold man was discovered in the central park of Nalasopara in Palghar. The body was found lying on a bench by local residents on Monday, who informed the police. The deceased has been identified, and police have registered a case of accidental death. The cause of death is currently under investigation.
