NOMINEES FOR FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH NOMINATING COMMITTEE (CLASS OF 2020) The Nominating Committee is responsible for considering nominations and preparing the slate of persons to be recommended for election as Ruling Elders, and if needed, Pastor Nominating Committees. Each year four members are elected by the Congregation and two members are designated from the Session to serve on the Nominating Committee for a term of two years. The following nominees will appear on the slate for a congregational vote at the Annual Meeting February 4, 2018. Nominations may also be made by the congregation during the Annual Meeting. Persons nominated from the floor must have been contacted by the nominating member and expressed a strong willingness to serve and to make a regular time commitment. Session members who will join the Nominating Committee class of 2020 are Katherine Drake and Gail Price. Meredith Latham is a multi-tasking working woman, wife, and mother of two. She was born in Maine and raised in the Presbyterian Church in Mississippi (Lakeside Presbyterian of Brandon, MS) with a number of years living in New York, Oxford, MS and Atlanta since. Meredith and Dan Latham were married at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York and joined First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta in 2008. Along with their children, Sadie (13) and Guy (12), they are active members of the church community. Meredith serves on the Communications Council and has taught Sunday school for the young 2s and 5th grade. She has been the decorator in chief for Vacation Bible School and organizer of Hanging of the Greens. While Dan is actually the chef, Meredith and the kids enjoy creating a monthly meal for the Transition Center. Meredith has a BBA from the University of Mississippi and is currently the Head of Brand for Crowne Plaza Hotels at Intercontinental Hotel Group and has worked in international business and marketing since the 1990s. With her fraction of spare time, she has served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for the last 8 years. Tommy Meade is a lifelong Presbyterian and has been an active member of FPC for almost 30 years. Along with his wife Cindy, they have raised 4 children at First Pres (Bess, Grace, Reeder and Josie). Involvement at FPC over the years includes Elder Class of 2015, Nominating Committee, Elementary and preschool Sunday school teacher and member of the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee that called our current Executive Pastor. Tommy is currently a member of the Community Ministries Council and is an active participant in our Sunday Morning Prayer breakfast. Tommy is a 1982 graduate of Auburn University and is a Financial Advisor with the Private Bank of Wells Fargo.

Jennifer Oppenheimer was born and raised in Tallahassee and graduated from Brenau Women’s College in Gainesville, Georgia with a degree in early childhood education. She has lived in Atlanta for 25 years and is married to Bill Oppenheimer, who grew up at FPC. Jennifer and Bill are the proud parents of two sons: Davis, a junior at Presbyterian College, and Sam, a 7th-grader. Jennifer has been a member of FPC for 8 years and has volunteered with Vacation Bible School and youth ministries, chaired Family Service Day, taught elementary Sunday school, participated in the Women’s Wednesday Bible study, and served as FPC’s volunteer coordinator for our partnership with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. Jennifer teaches preschool at Johns Creek Baptist Church and in her free time, enjoys baking, hiking, boating, running, and music. Ed Trimble and his wife, Melissa, have been members of First Presbyterian since 1995. They have three boys—Will, Charlie and Davis—who have all grown up at the church, including attending the FPC Preschool. Ed has served as an Elder and former Chair of the Communications Council. Ed and Melissa are members of the Ours for Today Sunday School class. Ed is the President of FanBeat, a tech company delivering fan engagement solutions to sports leagues and media companies. Ed enjoys playing golf and cheering for Duke basketball.
