DREAM STUDY GROUP DREAM GROUP FOR SPIRITUAL DIALOGUE
hange is challenging. There are unknowns, doubts, and fears. This is especially true for children and youth who often feel as if they don’t have much of a voice in the change. But, change doesn’t have to be negative. Rainbows provides an avenue for children, youth, and parents to talk about the changes they are experiencing and the challenges that come along with change. Rainbows provides a platform for the challenges to turn in to healing and opportunities for growth. Through this all, children, youth, and parents discover a new sense of self and a unique way to claim and define their newly developed definitions of family. And, they build a new sense of community with the friends they meet who are experiencing similar forms of change. Do you know a child or family who is experiencing a loss? If so, Rainbows might be right for them. Rainbows is a national support group for children and youth who have experienced a significant loss in their lives. Forms of loss may include divorce, death, abandonment, or change in family structure. The purpose of Rainbows is to help children move from grief to healing and instill in them the realization that painful changes can become occasions for new beginnings and personal growth.
Beginning September 19, we will offer an eight-week dream group to explore our nightly dreams as gifts to help us deepen our spiritual lives. Like parables, dreams invite us into the realm of meaning. creativity, and mystery. The group will meet from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm on Mondays in B320. The group will be limited, so if you are interested, please call Tootie Lyons at 770-805-9017.
