SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY
Our community is fortunate enough to have had big help over the last few years. While we wish we could highlight every non-profit on island, here are some that are critical to the health and wellness of the island.
Community Foundation for Nantucket

The Community Foundation works to support Nantucket by addressing critical issues, both immediate and long-term. The Nantucket Fund for Emergency Relief was created to support island nonprofits in their work to provide essential services to our community in the last year.
Nantucket Ice
nantucketice.org
Nantucket Ice promotes a healthy recreational environment for Nantucket’s children and adults. Their weekly schedules range from learn to skate classes to curling. Nantucket Ice is also home to numerous ice hockey teams and is a great spot to gather on island. Donations help fund ongoing maintenance and support the rink skating programs.

Nantucket Boys & Girls Club

Since 1945 the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club has helped empower and support the island’s youth. From after school programs to summer camps, this is an invaluable resource on island. Check out their offerings online for events, summer programs and ways to support this club.
A Safe Place

A Safe Place offers free, confidential services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. They provide direct services as well as preventative education, crisis intervention, counseling and more. They are the only agency on the island and have an incredible staff of social workers and counselors to help the community.
Beyond real estate, Fisher Real Estate aims to share the island’s critical resources with our clients who may not know of, or may no know much about, the various organizations that help our community thrive.

Swim Across America

Swimmers of all ages and skill level are invited to participate in fundraising and raising awareness for this community resource. Proceeds from the swim support cancer treatment and patient care at Nantucket Cottage Hospital and Palliative and Supportive Care of Nantucket. Maria Mitchell Association

Named for Nantucket’s native astronomer, the Maria Mitchell Association operates two observatories, natural science museum, aquarium and a research center on island. Various science and history-related programs are offered for people of all ages.
Palliative & Supportive Care of Nantucket

PASCON is a specialized health care program dedicated to providing phsyical, psychological, social and spiritual care for persons with life-threatening illnesses and their families. Nantucket Island Safe Harbor For Animals

NISHA is an open door shelter on the island. They provide shelter and care for animals in need, and promote animal welfare through humane education, outreach and advocacy. From adoption to community assistance, NISHA is an essential service for the Nantucket community.
Fairwinds

Nantucket’s Counseling Center for over 60 years, Fairwinds offers support for the mental and physical well-being of the island. Their staff is incredible and they were able to offer all their services remotely in the last year to further help our community.
