Are you tired of seeing clumps of hair in your brush or shower drain? Hair loss can be frustrating and even downright scary, but there are natural ways to help combat it. Our Collagen supplements with hyaluronic acid, beetroot and pomegranate are three powerful ingredients that can help stop hair loss and promote healthy hair growth.
Collagen is a protein that is naturally found in our bodies, including our skin, nails, and hair. As we age, our bodies produce less collagen, which can lead to thinning hair and brittle nails. Supplementing with collagen can help improve the strength and thickness of your hair by
providing the building blocks it needs to grow. Collagen supplements can also help improve the health and elasticity of your skin, giving you a more youthful appearance overall.
Hyaluronic acid is another powerful ingredient that can help prevent hair loss. This molecule is naturally found in our bodies and helps keep our skin and hair hydrated. When applied topically, hyaluronic acid can help strengthen hair follicles and prevent them from becoming brittle and breaking. Hyaluronic acid can also help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, making it a great addition to any skincare routine.
Beetroot and pomegranate are two superfoods that are packed with antioxidants and nutrients that can help promote healthy hair growth. Beetroot is high in iron, which is essential for
healthy hair growth, and can also help improve circulation to the scalp, providing the nutrients your hair needs to thrive. Pomegranate is rich in vitamins C and E, which can help improve the health and strength of your hair. These two ingredients work together to provide a powerful one-two punch against hair loss.
So, if you’re looking for a natural way to stop hair loss and promote healthy hair growth, look no further than our superfood collagen range of supplements, hyaluronic acid, and beetroot and pomegranate. They are also packed with vitamin D and C With regular use, you’ll start to notice stronger, healthier hair that’s less prone to breakage and thinning. Try incorporating these ingredients into your daily routine and watch your hair transform before your eyes!

Research from Miracle-Gro, one of the leading garden care brands in the UK, shows that British children and families love for gardening, is at an alltime high. Millions of British children are learning to be ‘green fingered’, by getting stuck in with helping their parents pot plants, mow the lawn and grow vegetables.
A survey of 1,000 parents and 1,000 grandparents of children aged 5-12 found a growing movement to get their children to embrace outdoor activities and get away from the TV. As many as 60% of children are now growing vegetables, with one in six naming a sunflower as their children’s favourite plant. Watering the garden, planting bulbs, and potting plants were deemed the best garden activities to share with a youngster, while 21% enjoy filling up the bird bath.
Gardening Guru, Kate Turner, from MiracleGro, which commissioned the survey, said: “It’s amazing that so many youngsters are being inspired to take up such an important life skill. “Not only that but spending time with loved ones outdoors can be such a special experience that families can cherish for years. That’s why we’re working with Greenfingers - a national charity dedicated to supporting life-limited children and their families who spend time in hospices around the UK – to assist with a therapeutic garden within ‘The Nook’, a purpose-built children’s hospice in

Norfolk.”
The study also found 47% spent the various lockdowns teaching new things to the young people in their care. 64% of those polled hope their child or grandchild grows up to be green fingered. A further 43% believe gardening is beneficial to their youngster’s mental health. And eight in 10 want them to spend more time outdoors than inside watching TV.
Top reasons for this are that it’s better for their health (70%) and it helps them burn off excess energy (56%). But 57% think it’s important for kids to have an interest in nature, as they are the
generation that’s going to have to ‘save the planet’. While 85%look forward to the bond that can develop by spending time in the garden with their children or grandchildren.
It also emerged half of respondents have spent more time gardening than in the pre-pandemic times, which has meant 30% of children have been outside more too, according to the OnePoll data. Almost 9 in 10 enjoy teaching their kids or grandchildren new things, with 70% having fond memories of learning new skills from their own parents or grandparents.
Getting kids interested from a young age can foster a love of gardening and the outdoors that can last a lifetime and the memories can also live on forever.

“Illustrations are so important and not to be underestimated, as they help to deepen the narrative and reveal important social and cultural cues. Chatting together about the ‘story’ that the pictures tell in a book or magazine is an activity that is helpful for language development,” Harding explains.
If kids are digitally inclined, link the online world with the reading one. “The digital space is here to stay, children were born into this world, they learn with it in school, and they see it used every day. If they’re interested in a topic, then this appears to be great motivation to read a book or magazine about it or watch a movie or related series,” she explains.
Reading takes us on adventures we may never normally have and teaches us about the world beyond what we can see, but some people may not be that interested. Much of our connection with reading is developed as children, so how can we encourage a life-long reading passion in our kids?
Rachael Rogan, the founder of BookTastic (booktastic.org.uk), the book festival which focuses on children and families from disadvantaged backgrounds, says that “a love of reading is one of the most powerful gifts you can give to a child”.
“As well as the obvious benefits – stories are fun, magical devices that don’t require charging or Wi-Fi and can transport you to another dimension in seconds –reading is a proven and hugely effective route out of poverty.”
So, what can parents do to inspire a love of reading in their children?
Relax into it
“Dial down any stress involved in ‘learning to read’,” says child development expert and Readly (gb.readly.com) spokesperson Dr Jacqueline Harding. “Offer material that has something to ‘say’ to children. There needs to be a sense of fun for readers to be relaxed and fully engaged, this is key to the experience of beginning to decipher those squiggles on the page.” “Children tend to like characters who are similar to them, ones they can relate to, and who are aspirational and inspirational.”
Short on time? Not a problem
Focus on the quality of time spent reading, not quantity. “Family life is often hectic. It’s good to know that it’s all about the quality of time spent together and, sometimes those short bursts of reading are more valuable anyway. We want children to end a ‘reading session’, whatever form that might take, feeling confident and satisfied –not bored,” Harding explains. “Then, next time you suggest sharing a book or magazine, they are more likely to jump at the opportunity.”
Share the joy of a book
Make reading a family affair. “Dive into the reading space with your children. Laugh and enjoy the experience together – this communicates that reading is a fun and fantastic activity. Share favourite books, magazines and platforms with friends – and talk about the characters and which plots or narratives captivate you,” Harding says.
Hinge a passion for reading by way of an existing hobby. “Whether it’s superheroes, nature, animals or fantasy, there are books and magazines for every interest. Children and adults relish that deep immersion in the literature that has something to ‘say to them’ so it’s important to nurture and fan the flame of that interest through reading,” says Harding.
“Fascinatingly, young children who enjoy ‘behaving like a reader’, perhaps chatting away to themselves reading the book or magazine upside down or making up a story of their own by looking at the pictures, are building the very confidence they need to engage in reading when they are cognitively ready,” says Harding.

It is important to instil a love of literacy from an early age as literacy skills span far wider than just picking up a book. Karen Kilkenny, Head of Chapter House School at Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate talks through the innovative ways in which they ensure each and every pupil enjoys reading from a young age.
“In Chapter House, literacy and learning is at the heart of everything we do. Time is made every day specifically to enjoy sharing a book together, and each class has a specific time to visit the Chapter House library. This allows them to choose a book they can take home to share with parents and siblings.”
“One of our most successful, and popular initiatives has been the introduction of our reading dog, Indie, especially with our younger children. It has increased the confidence of reluctant readers by having a non-judgemental audience. The children are purely reading for pleasure with no one pointing out mistakes or questioning them on the text. It is an initiative where we have seen their confidence increase and their reading has become more animated, with more expression – one Year 1 child’s reading age has improved by two years over one term, and they are more curious about reading different texts. “
“Year 5 students are encouraged to be librarians, recommending books to their peers, creating displays in the library and using break times to share books with younger pupils. This vital engagement, extends beyond the classroom with regular parent information meetings on reading, sharing new school initiatives and advice on how they can support their child with reading at home.”
“Chapter House is a vibrant and engaging school that focuses on providing an enabling environment which respects, recognises and tunes into each unique child; central to our mission of ensuring each child can be ‘the best they can be, with the gifts that they have’.”

Dr Angela Rai, The London General Practice. A stroke is a serious life threatening condition and is a medical emergency. If you suspect someone is having a stroke, you must call 999 immediately and ask for an ambulance.
Time – it is time to call 999 immediately if you see any of these signs.
Risk factors for Stroke include:
• Lifestyle factors such as smoking, excess alcohol and drug abuse, physical inactivity and poor diet.
• Cardiovascular conditions such as atrial fibrillation (abnormal heart rhythm) which causes more than 20% of ischaemic strokes.
Acting quickly and being aware of how to recognise symptoms of a stroke is crucial. The sooner a person can receive help and treatment the better the outcome. A stroke happens when the blood supply to the brain is cut off, damaging brain cells and therefore damaging the brain which then affects how the body works. A stroke can occur at any age, the average age across the UK varies, with a median age of 77.
There are different types of stroke. An ischaemic stroke is caused by a blockage cutting off the blood supply to the brain and is the most common type of stroke. A haemorrhagic stroke is caused by a bleed in or around the brain. A transient ischaemic attack or TIA is defined as stroke symptoms and signs that resolve within 24 hours, it is also known as a mini stroke and the blockage that stops the brain receiving blood is temporary.
The signs and symptoms of a stroke may vary in individuals as different parts of the brain may be affected. However the symptoms usually come on suddenly and can be remembered by the word FAST.
Face – their face may have dropped on one side. Check if the person can smile and see if their eye or mouth has drooped on one side.
Arms – There may be arm weakness on one side. Check if the person can raise both arms. Speech – their speech may be affected and become slurred. Check if the person can speak clearly and understand you.
• Hypertension and carotid artery diseaseatheroma and stenosis of the carotid arteries are commonly associated with stroke and TIA.
• Heart valvular disease, Congestive heart failure and congenital heart disease.
• Other factors include- age, high cholesterol, diabetes, chronic kidney disease and obstructive sleep apnoea are also risk factors for stroke.
Several of these factors are modifiable and therefore early screening for medical conditions and appropriate treatment can reduce the risks of developing stroke.
Simple tests can be performed by your doctor to check if you are at risk, such as a blood test for cholesterol and diabetes, a blood pressure check and examination of your heart to check for valvular disease or abnormal heart rhythms.
A carotid Doppler ultrasound is a non-invasive test that measures the flow of blood through the large carotid arteries that supply blood to the brain. These arteries can become narrowed and can lead to stroke or TIA. This test can help doctors determine stroke risk and the need for preventative measure.
The effects of stroke are lifechanging, identifying if you at risk and taking the necessary actions are key to reducing your risks.
