THE POWER OF PROTEIN Protein provides the body the building blocks for all structural cells, so if your goal is to gain muscle, increase strength or even reduce body fat, whilst maintaining lean definition; meeting your individual protein needs is essential. During exercise muscle tissue is broken down, and your body uses dietary protein to repair muscle tissue and adapt to the stresses it has encountered. As exercise and activity level increase in duration and intensity, the amount of protein you need to overcome the level of breakdown also increases. Simply including protein as king-size portions with your evening meal is not the answer. In fact recent research has shown that consuming between 20-40g of protein at each meal or snack regularly throughout the day (every 2-3 hours) is the optimal way of stimulating muscle protein synthesis and therefore recovery and physical adaptation. (Tipton et al, 2009)
An advanced whey protein shake, ideal for supporting your lean muscle, definition, strength and recovery goals Promax is a high protein powder designed help support your lean muscle, definition, strength and recovery goals. One 30g scoop provides 23g of protein, add to 200ml of cold water for a post-workout feed or more simply as a snack between meals. Available in 7 different flavours from natural to choc mint, this high protein powder will taste great and also helps to support your muscle development goals by contributing to your daily protein requirements.
Active individuals who are looking to maintain and develop muscle should consume between 1-2g of protein, dependent on training and goal, for example, an active 80kg man needs 80-160g (Kreider et al., 2010). Since convenient high protein snacks are sometimes hard to find, Promax can help individuals meet these recommendations.

BIOMAX® PROTEIN Promax contains our unique high quality protein blend, Biomax, to provide your body with essential amino acids, BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids) and glutamine. Promax contains a blend of 23g of protein per serving, which includes whey protein isolate & hydrolysed whey protein, to support the growth and maintenance of lean muscle mass. Whey protein isolate is a pure form of whey protein that has had virtually all fat, lactose and other impurities removed to make it faster acting. It is rapidly digested by the body which allows for the fast uptake of amino acids stimulating growth and repair of the tissue. Hydrolysed whey protein is produced by treating the whey protein with enzymes that split peptide bonds from the protein structure. These peptide fractions are absorbed faster and reach muscle cell sites quicker than other protein sources creating a fast acting protein for improved muscle recovery and growth.
GLUTAMINE Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body and has recently become regarded as conditionally essential rather than a non-essential amino acid (Newsholme et al., 2011). It is commonly found in high protein foods such as meats and fish, and is used in the body for cell growth and fuelling the immune system. During periods of heavy training, glutamine levels fall in the body which can suppress the immune system and increases the risk of infection (Castell et al, 1996).

BCAAs The branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) are leucine, isoleucine, and valine. BCAAs are found in many protein rich foods such as dairy, meat, fish and eggs. BCAAs are considered essential amino acids, because the human body cannot produce them itself and therefore they are required from the diet. BCAAs and in particular leucine; have been shown to activate muscle signalling pathways that stimulate protein synthesis during the recovery period after exercise (Blomstrand et al., 2006).
CHROMIUM Promax contains the mineral chromium, a trace element that contributes to carbohydrate and fat metabolism. Chromium helps the body stabilise blood sugar levels, reduce cravings and reduce insulin release (Anderson, 1998).
RECOMMENDED USE Take 2-4 servings a day depending on your goals. One at breakfast, another after exercise and also between meals where required. One serving = 1 x 30g scoop. Mix with 200ml of cold water in a Maximuscle shaker.
