Tabata workout was invented by the Japanese scientist, Dr. Izumi Tabata and the team of NIFS (National Institute of Fitness and sports) in Tokyo. Dr. Tabata’s team conducted the study by two group of athletes, one group was performing their workout at moderate intensity level, while the second group were working at high-intensity level. The first group did 1 hour of moderate-intensity exercise five times a week and the other group workout of high intensity four times a week for 4 minutes and 20 seconds with 10 seconds of interval between each set. Result was interesting, both groups improves their aerobic and anaerobic fitness levels, but high-intensity group increased their anaerobic fitness level by 28%, as compared to moderate intensity level. The conclusion the high-intensity interval workout has more impact on both Aerobic and Anaerobic fitness level.
