A note from the HCMBA Director

I am pleased that we can now provide a newsletter to communicate all the exciting things happening within the Chapman Graduate School of Business’ Healthcare MBA program! With Cohort 5 starting in Spring 2012, we have much to share. The most exciting news is that our Cohort 1 students will be graduating in only 4 weeks! Their 18‐month journey went by so fast, I cannot believe they will be concluding their studies and graduating on December 13th. Cohort 1 is very special making significant impacts in the delivery and improvement of the HCMBA curriculum. In our next issue, we will share photos of this impressive group. In Fall’11, we welcomed our dual degree students from China’s Southern Medical University (SMU). The 13 students will complete their Healthcare MBA studies at FIU in Summer’12. These students represent the start of our program’s educational and research relationship with SMU. In the coming issues we will highlight student stories, faculty’s research projects and program activities. I welcome your comments and suggestions ‐ enjoy the first issue of the HCMBA newsletter!
