DEFINITION
CALCUTTA RULES
Teams are divided into PODs, each consisting of three (3) teams. The PODs are ranked from 1 to 60 based on the total team handicap.
The auction process is as follows:
1. Wild Card PODs: The auction starts with two (2) Wild Card PODs. The winning bidder of a Wild Card POD can choose any POD they like. The minimum bid for a Wild Card POD is $2,500. Teams will be selected at random.
2. Main Auction: Following the Wild Card selections, 15 PODs will be auctioned off in a live auction. The order of auctioning these PODs will be random. Bids must increase in increments of $100. The live auction will begin at approximately 6:30 PM on the event lawn.
Scoring:
• Points are earned by all three (3) teams in a POD.
• The total points for a POD are the sum of the points earned by each of its teams.
• The POD with the highest total points for each match is determined by this cumulative score.
Ownership Option:
• Each member/guest team in a POD has the option to purchase 10% of their POD.
• The owner of the POD must accommodate this purchase.
• Refer to the ownership requirements below for more details.
The POD earning the most points per match and overall will receive the following payout:
• Individual Match Winners
o 1st Place = 7%
o 2nd Place = 3%
PAYOUT
• Overall Winners
o 1st Place = 20%
o 2nd Place = 15%
o 3rd Place = 10%
• Shootout Winner = 5%
RAINOUT POLICY
TIEBREAKERS
Payouts will be distributed each day after the matches conclude. Overall winners will be determined based on the total number of matches played. If any matches or shootouts are canceled, the corresponding prize money will be redistributed to the overall POD winners.
1. First Tiebreaker:
• Drop the team with the lowest points in each tied POD.
• Recalculate the total points using the remaining three (2) teams in each POD.
2. Second Tiebreaker (if still tied):
• Drop the team with the lowest points among the remaining two (2) teams in each tied POD.
• Recalculate the total points using the remaining team in each POD.
• Your team has the option to purchase 10% of your POD from the POD owner.
• POD owners will be notified of their liability on Wednesday night.
OWNERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
• POD owners are responsible for paying the full amount for their POD.
• The Calcutta Team will handle all collections and payouts exclusively with the POD owners.
• Payment must be made in cash only.
• The entire payment must be completed by 9 AM on Thursday. Partial payments will not be accepted.
