Dear members, Winter has officially arrived bringing below freezing temperatures to the Kansas City region. The changing of the weather provides the golf course maintenance team an opportunity to begin projects that are difficult to complete during the busy golf season

One area of emphasis this winter is the continuing evaluation of trees throughout the property. The golf course maintenance team recently conducted a tree assessment of all maintained areas throughout the property We concluded the assessment with 79 tree specimens that need removal.

LIMBING UP A DEAD ASH TREE ON THE SECHREST PROPERTY PRIOR TO FELLING THE TREE

Of these 79 trees only 8 are located in highly maintained areas on the golf course. The vast majority of these assessed trees are located outside the cart path in areas such as natives, the clubhouse parking lot and the Sechrest property. These trees have been labeled for removal due to death, decay or safety concerns Safety concerns include trees with excess dead wood and/or hollow qualities. Many of these dead trees are Ash trees that have been killed by the Emerald

Ash Borer insect

This insect has caused widespread damage to Ash trees throughout the region in recent years Upon completion of all tree removals, a stump grinder will be rented to remove remaining stumps. We have a plan to replace any desired trees with select Maple varieties to add fall color throughout the golf course this Spring.

The GCM team thanks you for your support throughout the 2022 season. We’re excited for the opportunity to make an impact with upcoming winter projects as we move into the 2023 season Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns Happy Holidays!

Best regards,

GOLF COURSE

KIM PALMER Operations Director

It's hard to believe another month is almost behind us. You know what they say, "Time flies when we are having fun" and that has absolutely been the case for November

We opened the month strong with GOBBLER BINGO & CHILI NIGHT, hosted in Fireside. To say this was a hit would be an understatement More than 70 of our closest friends, dabbers in hand came ready to PLAY. 10 games full of laughs, special prizes, a sing along and a dance off. Everyone left a winner after a spirited night!

Fast forward a week and Loch Lloyd Country Club hosted A TASTE OF TUSCANY as we welcomed Tenuta Torciano Winery and our wine expert for the evening, Gabriele from San Gimignano, Italy This was an exclusive evening of sampling the finest Italian wine, vino wisdom, and Tuscan inspired bites Guests truly felt like they were in Italy - from Gabriele's accent to Chef's incredible menu it was an exceptional evening.

And no November can be wrapped up without turkey, pumpkin pie and all the fixins' and Loch Lloyd Country Club did just that as we hosted a THANKSGIVING FEAST on Thursday, November 24th with approximately 300 of our closest friends The dining rooms were transformed into family style seating, complete with festive decor, and we opened our doors for our Loch Lloyd Family to enjoy a day of blessings with their loved ones The food was divine and the company was exceptional We are grateful for an incredible team of associates that spent their holiday taking care of our members and ensuring a day full of memories that will last well beyond the shelf life of those leftovers

And those associates won't be getting rest as we turn our attention to December, a month packed with more merriment Loch Lloyd will serve as host to numerous holiday gatherings in addition to our member programming. Christmas Lighting (news alert... this has been pushed to Saturday, December 3rd), our Annual Member Appreciation Sale (this year named LOCH & LOADED), Ladies Holiday Bubbles, Brunch and Boutiques, Ugly Christmas Sweater Party in the 19th Hole and who would miss SANTA BRUNCH! Man I am tired just thinking about it More details on all of these events can be found in the newsletter or call the Clubhouse for more information

7

While all of these events are occurring, we are still focusing on our daily dining operations and working to ensure an exceptional experience each and every time you walk into the Club. As promised, tweaks to the menu were released in mid-November These were made based on member feedback. And while this journey to a menu that is pleasing to everyone is still a work in progress, it is our hope you will find positive changes in the latest version Some of the changes include the addition of:

Daily Soup & Salad $14

Fried Pickles available all day $5

Side Tee Off Salad $6

Side Caesar Salad $8

*Option to add chicken to both of the above side salads

Chicken Caesar Wrap $14

Crispy Chicken Chopped Wrap $15

Pesto Chicken Sandwich $16

Loch Lloyd Club Sub $17

Soy Glazed Salmon (this is TO DIE for) $32

Nabe Japanese Hotpot (for all you vegans out there) $30

Grilled Cheese added to the kids menu $8

In addition to these added items, you will also find alterations to our BUTCHER BLOCK with cost effective alternatives. After this revision, we will turn our focus to the Spring when we anticipate another version of the menu to be released

In closing, I want to remind all of our members our Clubhouse is your Clubhouse. Members are allowed to use rooms in the Club, schedule permitting and reservation required, for up to 2 hours free of charge (assuming there is no additional set up or services being used). Members and non members can also rent multiple event spaces in the Club/on the property and our rooms can accommodate groups from a handful of people to over 200 attendees. If you have a need I am confident we have the space For a list of available rentals or to book a date, please reach out to Brytoney at brytoneyg@lochlloyd com or call the Clubhouse at 816 322 1022

Take care & stay well

Hello Ladies

Terri Thomas has graciously passed the reins of our association’s leadership to me and I’m looking forward to a great 2023 golf season. It will be a special year for me, as I will be celebrating my 30th anniversary as a member of the club. Did you know that the traditional gift associated with 30 years is Pearls and the modern gift is Diamonds? And, interestingly, the color Green is associated with 30 years. That must mean us gems are in for some fun times on the greens in 2023!

In addition to my assuming the role of President, the following ladies will be rounding out the board:

2023 Officers:

· Vice President: Amy Walleck

· Secretary: Marsha Mock

· Treasurer: Sherie Bartlett

· 9 Hole Coordinator: Lori McConnell

2023 Chairpersons:

· ICSWGA Rep: Pam Hamer

· Special Events: Lindsey Elder, Jackie Jordan, Amy Walleck

· Team Play/WGAKC: Pat Hersma

Rep at Large: Linda Boice Care and Concern: TBD

While we haven’t yet narrowed down the dates and events for 2023, you can plan on having our usual key events, such as the Brigadoon in September, Solheim Cup in July and formal/informal guest days in July and August. And, of course, we can’t forget our 9 hole “Red, White and Blue” celebration! New for next year, I’ll be announcing some meet up opportunities for those of us who don’t winter away. More to come in the next newsletter!

As we wind down the official 2022 golf season, I’d like to again thank all the ladies and staff of Loch Lloyd who put in considerable time and effort to pull together some fun LLLGA golf events. I’m grateful to those who are continuing to serve on the board and committees, since the LLLGA couldn’t exist without their help. And, a special thanks to Terri Thomas, Amanda Schlup, Annette Cundith, Ann Carlson and Janice Schaefer who are moving on from their board and committee responsibilities and whose efforts on our behalf were greatly appreciated. I will be looking to fill the role of Care and Concern so reach out if you have any interest in being our association’s caretaker!
