Dear Members, There’s nothing better than looking out onto the golf course and seeing … well, GREEN! I don’t want to jinx us but I’m hoping that the cold weather we’ve experienced this spring has gone for good. I cannot wait to see the trees full of leaves and the course full of golfers! We are always excited to welcome our busy season because we get to see more and more members using the Club and enjoying the facilities. We have a lot of great events planned for you during the month of May including the ever-popular Windbrooker Sign-Up Party on May 11th and Couples Night Golf at The Deuce on Friday, May 18th. We hope you’ll bring Mom over to The National Clubhouse for our annual Mother’s Day Brunch on May 13th. It’s one of our most popular dining events of the year so don’t put off making those reservations. We have an incredible menu created by Executive Chef Kenneth Hornbeck and his talented culinary team. See complete details on page 12.

GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE Spencer Roberts Director of Golf Course Maintenance
Dear Members, The Golf Course Maintenance Team had a very productive April. The team completed multiple small projects and continues to make The Deuce golf course and grounds better every day. One of our primary goals has been to add landscaping beds throughout the property. The beds will provide yearlong contrast and color and will be a nice upgraded feature. As the weather allows, we will be planting different plant material to the beds and we are excited to see the finished product come to fruition. I’ve included some “before-andafter” photos that may help tell the story. May is one of my favorite months being out on the golf course as playing conditions are at a premium. I look forward to seeing many of you on the course. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Sincerely, Spencer Roberts Director of Golf Course Maintenance spencer@fivestarlifestyles.com

We have witnessed some interesting weather the past month and I doubt any of us will be sorry to say goodbye to April! As we look ahead to a busy summer, we want to keep you updated regarding staffing and “behind-the-scenes” activity that has taken place at your Club the past several months.
This month we’re proud to feature these Twenty Rows wines by the bottle at The National Clubhouse:
John Geiger
Executive Director Food & Beverage
We have interviewed and hired most of our seasonal staff and will begin training early this month. Our new training program has been developed with one central focus: to provide you with exceptional, consistent service as we exceed your expectations. You may be interested to know that both new and seasoned staff members will be attending our training program to ensure the high quality of service and attention to detail that is so essential in the Club environment. In addition to a few new faces this summer, you’ll probably notice new uniforms, new activities for the kids and a few new procedures, particularly with regard to Snack Bar service at the Pool. We’re excited about the changes that are taking place at your Club and are eager to hear your input and feedback. As always, we thank you for your support. John Geiger Executive Director of Food & Beverage johng@fivestarlifestyles.com
Chardonnay $32++ A balance of flavors and textures, this Napa Valley Chardonnay has hints of tropical fruit and vanilla. Aged in 10% new French oak, notes of pineapple and ripe citrus are complemented with a touch of toast on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon $32++ The nose displays aromas of bright black cherries, followed by dusty cocoa and roasting coffee beans. Dense texture and a fine sense of balance enhance the flavors of blackberry, currants, vanilla bean and dark chocolate. Pinot Noir $32++ This Pinot Noir highlights the red fruit and sweet spice that makes Pinot Noir from Sonoma County and Carneros famous. A hint of earth complements the cherry, cranberry and raspberry notes that linger over the palate.
