Dear Member, As we turn the calendar page to start this new month and this new year, the executive team is very excited to welcome our new owner, Brian Illig. Brian is a member, a resident and a former associate of the Club. Already well acquainted with Club operations, Brian brings a new perspective and renewed energy to Loch Lloyd Country Club and we could not be more excited to usher in the next generation of management with Brian at the helm! As we say hello to Brian, unfortunately we need to bid farewell to Megan Hanrahan, Director of Food & Beverage. Megan has recently moved back to New York to be near family. We’d like to thank Megan for all that she has done for the Club and wish her the very best. She will be missed! Behind the scenes, our teams are busy planning for 2022. The 2022 Golf Event Guide is underway and will be delivered to your inbox soon, thanks to Director of Golf, Sean Hanna, and his team. I would like to thank ALL of the team members for a job well done this past year. I hope to see you at the Club soon. Stay warm!

On behalf of the entire Golf Operations team, we extend to our members a “Happy New Year!” As the team prepares for the 2022 golf season, we are looking forward to bringing some new products and apparel lines for you to enjoy. The final golf tournament schedule has been finalized and you will soon be receiving an online version of the annual Golf Event Guide which is a great tool that details each of our golf tournaments.
SEAN HANNA DIRECTOR OF GOLF seanh@lochlloyd.com
With the winter weather now here, I would like to remind you there are two holes cut on each green. The Golf Maintenance team cuts two holes to help spread out traffic on the greens during the winter months. We ask that when you are playing, remove the flagstick and place it in the opposite cup when you have finished putting out. Basically, you are making the group behind you play to a different hole location. Please be aware that frost delays are a possibility during the winter, so check for updates on ForeTees or call the Golf Shop to see if there are any delays. As a reminder, Missouri is in our “off-season” and we cannot post scores while playing locally. If you are playing in an area that is in an “active” season, you may post your scores. Our “active” season will pick back up starting in March of 2022 and you will once again be asked to post all scores to your handicap at that time. Should you have any questions on this, please contact your Golf Professionals. Happy New Year and I will see you on the first tee!

Hello Ladies, As many of you know, I am the LLLGA President. For those of you who may not know me, I would like to introduce myself. My husband, Phil, and I have been golf members at Loch Lloyd Country Club since 2004 and made Loch Lloyd our home in 2012. We have two daughters (one recently married!) and are huge KU fans. Once we made Loch Lloyd our home, I started golf (if you have seen me play golf, you will be happy to know that I have NOT been playing since 2004)! I am excited to work with the new LLLGA Board and Chairpersons to make 2022 a great season. TERRI THOMAS PRESIDENT LOCH LLOYD LADIES’ GOLF ASSOCIATION

HAPPY NEW YEAR! We hope you have enjoyed the amazing weather we received early this winter. The recent above-average temperatures (reaching 75 degrees on December 15th) have been great for golf! These warmer conditions have also given us some extended time to complete sod projects prior to the ground freezing.
Fairway Sod Work
Recently the decision was made to sod the back tee at the Practice Facility in the spring. Sodding 100% of the back tee will allow for the GRANT SUDERMAN earliest possible opening of the tee in 2022. As a result of this SUPERINTENDENT decision, we will use any grants@lochlloyd.com existing good turf from the back tee to continue dormant sodding in weak areas throughout the golf course. Recent sod work has been completed on holes #3, 6, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 17 and 18. After Follow the GCM completion of all fairway sod team on Twitter! work, the back practice tee Please check will be prepped for spring sod. us out at @LochLloydGCM Many of the sodded areas Zoysiagrass sod in #16 fairway seen throughout the course are still being evaluated for drainage. If drainage is installed, the laid sod won’t go to waste; the sod would simply be picked up and put back after any drainage is installed. Pictured to the right are sodded areas on #16 after dormant sod was replaced in existing weak areas.
Double Cup System
Starting December 17th, the GCM team implemented the “Double Cup System” for the winter months. This system is used during winter periods to spread out foot traffic when new cups can’t consistently be cut due to frozen conditions. We ask that golfers rotate the flags to the opposite hole upon the completion of each hole. The arrow in the picture on the left points toward the second cup where the flag would need to be moved after completing the hole. This rotation is necessary to spread out foot traffic during these winter periods.

Thank you for your cooperation. We hope to see you on the course! Grant Suderman Golf Course Superintendent grants@lochlloyd.com
