July 2021 at The Country Club at Loch Lloyd

Page 1

Dear Member, Despite some soggy weather, last month was bustling with activities on the course, in the Clubhouse and at the Pool. July looks to be even more exciting and fun-filled, especially with our Independence Day celebrations which include the Bourbon & Bacon Fest and our Rockin’ BBQ and Fireworks. You’ll find details on these festivities inside this issue. Our Golf Professionals outdid themselves with another great Men’s Invitational last month. I want to thank all the members who participated and commend all of our staff for a job well done. I’d also like to thank our members who did NOT participate in The Whummle for your patience and support of this time-honored event! We hope to see you around the Club soon. Have a happy and safe Fourth of July holiday!

At the time of writing this note for the July newsletter, we were in the midst of a heatwave just prior to Father’s Day weekend. When the temperatures start to hover around 100 degrees, please be mindful that the GCM team is working some tireless long hours in the heat to make your golfing round the best it can be! I’m proud of the 2021 group of associates we have working for us here at The Country Club at Loch Lloyd. Please take a moment in passing to say hello.

JEFF STEEN, CGCS DIRECTOR OF GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE jeffs@lochlloyd.com

The summer edition of the Golf Course Maintenance QuarterlyInsight was just released. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please let me know. I appreciate the feedback. A friendly reminder about cart rules (see diagram and photo on the next page) and adhering to the cart directional posts for entry and exit from the paths. If you don’t need to enter at the beginning of the hole, please remain on the path and simply follow the rule of 90 degrees on and 90 degrees off! Easy. This helps us more than you know to mitigate any unnecessary damage to the course. On behalf of the entire GCM team, we wish you and your family a wonderful 4th of July! Best Regards, Jeff Steen, CGCS Director of Golf Course Maintenance
