A Note
FROM THE CLUB PRESIDENT
And just like that, June is almost behind us. The month has been filled with swim meets and pool fun, our affiliate groups orchestrating exceptional events, privately hosted parties in the Clubhouse, and lots of (hot) golf. It's summer time at Loch Lloyd! We are excited to host a handful of 4th of July activities for our members and you will find full details on page 7. We hope you will join us for some patriotic fun. Our event calendar for the year is also included in this newsletter and we invite you to mark those calendars to take advantage of the expanded club activities we are orchestrating. As a reminder, the Clubhouse is here for our members. It is our goal to create an environment you all feel welcome to enjoy. For dinner, private events, catering, and more. As activities continue to increase at the Club, I would like to remind our members of the room use policy. If you are interested in using a room at the Club, for up to 2 hours, that does not need set-up by our team and does not include food and beverage service of any kind, this will be free of charge assuming the room/space is available and reserved appropriately. This can be facilitated by calling the Clubhouse at 816-322-1022. Please be mindful that all guests must be registered through the security office and adhere to our Club dress code.
I would be remiss if I didn't give a HUGE thank you to all of our associates for the dynamic and tireless work during the Whummle. Their determination, their can-do attitudes and those smiles made the Whummle a success. The Club has a positive spirit that continues to build and multiply. We invite you to experience the fun and look forward to seeing you soon.

July has almost arrived and spectacular golf and fun are on the Loch Lloyd horizon. The Whummle has come and gone and oh what stories there are to talk about. Thank you to all that participated in this year’s Whummle and congratulations to all flight winners. I would like to give a special shout out to this year’s Whummle Champions, Andrew Azan and his guest, Anthony Wilkinson. Full results can be seen on pages 16-20 of this newsletter. The month of July has lots of patriotic activities around the club. First up, our annual Folds of Honor event will be held Friday, July 1st. An incredible event for a worthy cause and we would like to thank you in advance for your contribution. The club will then be celebrating the holiday with fireworks on July 3rd. Don’t forget to sign up for Club Championships. Men’s Gross Club Championships takes place July 15th-17th, while Women’s, Senior’s and Men’s Net all take place on July 29th and 30th. Thursday night leagues take flight in July. Both men and women 9-Hole leagues will shotgun start each Thursday at 5:30 PM. If you would like more information regarding either the men’s or women’s 9-hole leagues, please contact the golf shop. See you on the 1st tee,
Sean

We are building, we are learning, we are working on enhancing your member experience. It's been a fun ride and the best is yet to come. In June those learnings included spending more time diving into our affiliate group events. It has been a real treat working with the Home and Garden Club, LLLGA and the newly formed Men's League. I hope to add value to these events and streamline the experiences for members and their guests. As mentioned last month, we have now published a calendar that includes scheduled events through the month of December. You can find this on page 6 of the newsletter. It is our hope that, by giving an extended view of the next 6 months, members will be better equipped to enjoy Club events. It is important to mention this calendar will be updated monthly as we work to schedule even more opportunities for members to enjoy Loch Lloyd. A renewed and reinvented initiative that kicks off this week is LIVE music in the 19th Hole (weather permitted, it may even be on the patio). This Friday will feature a Kansas City favorite, Drew Six. Drew is a heartland country rocker and his sound will be a great kick-off to a fun-filled 4th of July at Loch Lloyd. Then, get set for the vocals of Noe Palma on Friday, July 15th. His country lovin' music is perfect for a mid-summer dinner and drinks at the Club. As we focus on events for our members, it is our hope to introduce new associates in July that will add talent and energy to an already exceptional team. Stay tuned for new faces and additional information! In closing, I want to thank each of you for welcoming me to the Loch Lloyd family. Your welcoming spirit and words of encouragement have been a driving force in my journey and I am looking forward to building memories for and with each of you. I welcome feedback and suggestions and value your input.

Individual efforts by golfers make a big impact on maintaining high quality playing conditions during the stressful summer season. Limiting unnecessary damage and performing simple repairs aids the maintenance team in providing consistent and sustainable golf course conditions. Highlighted in this newsletter are two ways the golfer can help care for the course during summer stress periods. Ball Marks Unrepaired ball marks can affect ball roll and take weeks to recover. A properly repaired ball mark gives the turf opportunity to heal faster. It can be very time consuming for the maintenance team to fix every ball mark. After fixing your ball mark look for any others nearby that you can also repair. Pictured below is an aerial of #6 green. A golf ball has been placed on each visible ball mark on the green. There was over 450 ball marks on this green. If fixed incorrectly each of these could take weeks to recover. This also demonstrates the amount of traffic our greens receive and the importance you individually have to properly repair your ball mark to provide consistent playing conditions.

Traffic Stress Cart traffic can be detrimental due to increased turf wear and soil compaction. Always check in with the Pro Shop to receive the cart rules for the day. Cart rules are posted in the Foretees email, pin sheet, pro shop display board and cart monitors. This past year we implemented an Entry/Exit cart traffic system. Carts are to enter the course from path after the green post and then exit before the Red post. These posts are moved daily to limit traffic stress in centralized areas. It is very important to abide by these directions due to the negative impact cart traffic can have on rough areas during the hot summer season. During the months of July & August we ask that you KEEP CARTS IN THE FAIRWAY as much as possible to limit stress in rough areas. Please also pay attention to any cart signs or roped areas protecting new sod or stressed areas.
We all take great pride in course conditions and appreciate your effort in maintaining this beautiful course at its highest quality. Please feel free to contact me with questions, concerns or additional ways to help! Best Regards, Grant Suderman Golf Course Superintendent grants@lochlloyd.com 9

This Mixed Level Flow Yoga class is fun and upbeat and will incorporate Strengthening exercises into a Vinyasa flow style class. Each class begins with gentle movements to warm the body, moving into poses that strengthen while creating flexibility and balance, and ends with a state of deep relaxation in Savasana. We will focus on building strength, core stability and balance all while lengthening muscles and calming the nervous system. This combination of traditional yoga poses mixed with hand weights and other props will make you feel stronger, more balanced, and help you discover increased control of both large and small muscle groups. It is created to be accessible to yogis of almost any level, with the ability to simplify or intensify movements. Yoga Flow & Strength is the perfect way to calm the body and mind while getting your daily workout.
