THE ORIGIN OF THE BRIGADOON
Brigadoon (Bridge over the river Doon) is the name of the Scottish Highland village depicted in the 1947 Lerner and Loewe musical, Brigadoon
Brigadoon is the tale of a woman ’ s strength and independence. It is the story of an enchanted village that has come to symbolize a place that is peaceful, unaffected by time, removed from reality, and a place where dreams come true.
The musical tells the story of a dream-like village that awakens out of the highland mist once every hundred years, only to disappear after one day. Two postwar American hunters stumble upon it one day when they are lost in the fog One of the hunters falls in love with a lovely lass of Brigadoon. He wants her to marry and go away with him but she chooses to stay because leaving would break the spell of Brigadoon.
We wish you idyllic golf, never ending fun and camaraderie, and dream scores! May the spell of Brigadoon stay with you always!
