International Day for Tolerance

International Day for Tolerance fosters a societal standard to be tolerant of diverse groups and acknowledge everyone’s differences to build a stronger society. Since 1996, this day has been recognized every year on Nov. 16 when the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 51/95 and the Declaration of Principles on Tolerance.

The International Day for Tolerance is a day recognized by the United Nations General Assembly every year on November 16th to promote the idea of tolerance in society. Tolerance is the acceptance of diverse groups and differences, and is seen as a way to build a stronger society. Intolerance, on the other hand, can lead to discrimination, hate crimes, inequality, and a lack of human rights for minority communities. The International Day for Tolerance aims to promote world peace and human rights for all, and encourages individuals to learn about and appreciate different cultures in order to better understand and include one another. On this day, people are encouraged to advocate for tolerance and equity for all.
