A new beginning

Jan/Feb

“There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.” - C.S. Lewis

Flowers: Cymbidium, spray carnation ‘Solomio’, leucospermum, chrysanthemum ‘Rossano Orange’ Plant: Agave macroacantha

A new beginning The festive season is over and cheerful spring weather is still a couple more months down the road. As the days very slowly lengthen, be awed by the smallest things. A thin layer of frost, a single snowflake or even deep snow. Get warmed up inside the house after spending quality time together outside. Mix beautiful cool colours with warm shades around the house. Even though January brings us Blue Monday, it is also the start of a wonderful new year. We wish you a flowering and successful 2017.

SPECIAL DAYS THAT DESERVE SPECIAL FLOWERS

BLUE MONDAY Blue Monday calls for a flowery pickme-up. Even though 16th January has been scientifically proven to be the most depressing day of the year, you can ease the pain with a beautiful bunch of flowers.

VALENTINE’S DAY Being sweet doesn’t cost you anything. Okay, maybe a few quid to buy your love some flowers…

FEBRUARY FLOWER MOMENTS 4th February – National Sweater Day 12th February – International Darwin Day 14th February – Valentine’s Day 22nd February – World Thinking Day

HOUSEPLANT OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY FICUS (WEEPING FIG)

An elegant and attractive houseplant, one which is easy to look after. Don’t forget to water it regularly though. These plants are available year round and the lovely colours in the picture are just the perfect medicine for the drizzly grey outside.

HOUSEPLANT OF THE MONTH FOR FEBRUARY BRIGHAMIA (HAWAIIAN PALM) We love this unusual and very decorative houseplant. Although it’s called a palm it is actually a succulent, so needs very little water. Use it to introduce a hint of the exotic to your home, where it will thrive in a bright, warm spot away from direct sunlight

FLOWER OF THE MONTH 8

“Hurray for tulips, it’s epic flower power dressed in an effortless bulb!”

FLOWER OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY TULIPS

When you give someone tulips, know that you are also sending them an explicit message. Red tulips stand for temperamental love whereas black tulips say: “I love you so much, I would give up the world for you.’ Whoever sends you those is a keeper!

FLOWER OF THE MONTH FOR FEBRUARY ALSTROEMERIA

Long, smooth leaves and beautiful, brightly coloured flowers: these are the features of an alstroemeria. They symbolise friendship with all 6 flower petals representing a different virtue: understanding, humour, patience, compassion, vigour and respect.

PASTEL TILES

Delft Blue, Mediterranean wall tiles, they’re trends we currently spot in fashion and in interior design. This style is the first adaptation of the fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2017. The pastel tones soften the look of this package and can also be found in this year’s Tenderall range. It’s a style that will make soft colours and fluid shapes appeal to popular taste.

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY Set against a raspberry background, expressive focal colours become even more powerful. Sundries in regal turquoise and blended bronze make beautiful bases to hold reds, purples, pinks and oranges. What great powers colourful flowers have! Every ceramic pot or vase looks refreshed thanks to the charismatic handtieds. And it’s character that will bring this season into your home. With Bohemian Rhapsody we reminisce about the festive season, which has just gone but are also secretly looking forward to spring....

STYLISH WINTER Orangey-reds, blueish-greens and earthy colours is what makes this package. The rich colours of the selected flowers bring this style to the next level by flirting with orange, red and purple. The Indian trend, which is still very in fashion is enhanced by the right choice of colours in flowers. Throw in a few velvet pillows in warming colours and your house is ready for the second half of winter, in style.
