HOUSEPLANT OF THE MONTH FOR APRIL BANANA PLANT

Most people recognise the banana plant (Musa) from their exotic holiday destinations as they grow abundantly in warm climates, from Tenerife to Indonesia and from Thailand to Mexico. It’s often referred to as banana tree whereas in fact the stem is nothing more than overlapping, wing shaped leaf stalks that only form the appearance of a stem.

HOUSEPLANT OF THE MONTH FOR MAART BROMELIADS Happy, colourful, tropical and blessed with the most extraordinary shapes: Bromeliads have been the most exotic beauties amongst houseplants for centuries. Most bromeliads are native to the tropical regions of North and South America, where they grow under different climatic conditions. Renowned species that belong to the Bromeliads genus are: pineapples, Guzmania, Vriesea, Aechmea and Tillandsia. Most Bromeliads are epiphytic in nature and seemingly live off air. Their roots are merely used to hold on to something.
