UNCAPTURED 2010 bay horse by Lion Heart – Captivating, by Arch Uncaptured was the 2018 leading Florida freshman sire by progeny earnings with a total of $584,829. He was represented by 26 runners, eight winners and three blacktypestakes winners, including a graded-stakes winner. Uncaptured's leading earner was Florida-bred gradedstakes-winner Catherinethegreat, who banked $138,939 on the season. Catherinethegreat captured the 100th running of the Schuylerville Stakes (G3) on July 20 at Saratoga. Raced by John C. Oxley and trained by Mark Casse, the gray/roan filly out of the Carson City mare Classy City Lady became Uncaptured's first blacktype-stakes winner. Bred by Wendy Christ and Kathie Haines, Catherinethegreat was consigned by Turtle Pond Farm to the 2017 OBS October yearling sale. She was purchased for $170,000 by current owner John C. Oxley. Desert Vixen Stakes on Aug. 4 at Gulfstream Park. The Florida-bred 2-year-old filly was bred by Kathy Machesky, who also races her in partnership with Oxley. Trained by Casse, Capture Your Dream earned $96,000 on the season. Rounding out Uncaptured's trio of stakes winners was Bye Bye J, who won the House Party Stakes on Dec. 8 at Gulfstream Park. He earned $73,105 for the year. Multiple graded-stakes-winning-millionaire Uncaptured was named the 2012 Canadian champion 2-yearold colt and Horse of the Year. Raced by John C. Oxley and trained by Mark Casse, Uncaptured won the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2), Iroquois Stakes (G3), Matt Winn Stakes (G3) and Gulfstream Park Handicap (G2). Uncaptured recorded career earnings of $1,072,366. He entered stud in 2015 as property of Oxley and Ocala Stud, where he stands.

Brethren's leading juvenile earner was Florida-bred multiple-stakes-winner Cookie Dough, who collected $372,500 on the season. The precocious filly won the FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes Susan's Girl by six-and-a-half lengths on Sept. 1 at Gulfstream Park. She followed that with a dominating victory in the FTBOA FSS Stakes My Dear Girl by seven and a half lengths on Sept. 29. Out of the Fusaichi Pegasus mare Brooke's Valentine, Cookie Dough was bred and is raced by Alan Cohen's Arindel. Trained by Stanley I. Gold, Cookie Dough was named the 2018 Florida-bred champion 2-year-old filly. Florida-bred Shes a Bullet won three stakes in Puerto Rico
to bank $96,625 on the year. She posted victories in the Clasico Eduardo Cautino Insua Stakes, Clasico Dia d la Raza Stakes and Clasico Accion d Gracias Stakes. Raced by Establo Bulls Farm and trained by Alexis Rivera, all of Shes a Bullet's stakes wins came at Camarero Race Track. Out of the Boston Harbor mare Boston Maggie, Shes a Bullet was bred by Weeks M. Weeks. Consigned by De Meric Sales to the 2018 OBS April juvenile sale, Shes a Bullet was purchased for $10,000 by Camarero Race Track. Brethren was also represented by juvenile blacktypestakes-placed Nacho Papa, Gump and Capriati. Graded-stakes-winner Brethren captured the Sam F. Davis Stakes (G3) on his way to earning $386,465. He was the leading active Florida sire by total progeny earnings with $4,918,031. First Dude was represented by 88 winners, eight blacktype-stakes-winners, one non-blacktype stakes winner and two blacktype-stakes-placed runners. Leading the blacktype-stakes-winners parade were Grade 1 -stakes-winner and Eclipse Award recipient Shamrock Rose; Grade 3 Florida-bred stakes-winner Mom's On Strike and Grade 3 stakes-winner Skye Diamonds. Rounding out the group were Florida-bred stakes winners Cairenn, Madam Uno, Dakota's Dude, Mother of Dragons and stakes-winner Sticksstatelydude. Florida-bred Gray Velvet was a non-blacktype stakes winner in the Dominican Republic. The leading earner for First Dude was Shamrock Rose, who banked $848,076. By Adios Charlie out of the High Cotton mare Almost a Valentine, the bay horse was sold for $420,000 to L.R.K. Raced by Klaravich Stables and William H. Lawrence, Patternrecognition was a multiple-graded-stakes winner in 2018. The 5-year-old horse won the Cigar Mile
Handicap (G1) at Aqueduct and the Kelso Handicap (G2) at Belmont Park. Trained by Chad Brown, Patternrecognition banked $668,725 on the season. The Joe O'Farrell Memorial Award is presented annually by the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company to the original consignor of the year's best Florida-bred racehorse offered at an OBS public auction. The Arindel homebred won the Susan's Girl Stakes by sixand-a-half lengths on Sept. 1 at Gulfstream Park. On September 29, she romped to victory in the My Dear Girl Stakes by seven-and-a-half lengths. Cookie Dough, who earned $372,500 on the season, was named the 2018 Florida-bred champion 2-year-old filly. Archer Road, also an Arindel homebred, won the Copingaway Stakes on July 28 at Gulfstream Park. The 4-year-old gelding also captured the Mr. Steele Stakes on Sept. 29 at Gulfstream Park. As breeders, they were represented by 30 starters, who posted three wins, three seconds and four thirds. Leading the way for the Meaghers was Florida-bred graded-stakeswinner Mom's On Strike. By First Dude out of the War Chant mare Mom's Deputy, Mom's On Strike tallied three stakes wins on the season. Raced by Carol R. Moore Management and Brad Grady, she won the Bewitch Stakes (G3) at Keeneland, Marie G. Krantz Memorial Stakes and Albert M. Stall Memorial Stakes at Fair Grounds. Trained by Joe Sharp, Mom's On Strike was also second in the listed Ramsey Farm Stakes and listed Fasig-Tipton Waya Stakes. On the season, she banked $316,425 on three wins and two seconds in eight starts. The Needles Award was established by the FTBOA to honor Florida breeders who own small thoroughbred operations and have made outstanding contributions to the Florida thoroughbred industry. Needles was the first Florida-bred to win the Kentucky Derby in 1956.

Cookie Dough captured two legs of the FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes for 2-year-old fillies in eye-catching style. On Sept. 1, she rolled to a six-and-half-length victory in the
Susan's Girl Stakes at Gulfstream Park. The Stanley I. Gold trainee encored that by winning the My Dear Girl Stakes by seven-and-a-half lengths on Sept. 29 at Gulfstream Park. By Brethren out of the Fusaichi Pegasus mare Brooke's Valentine, Cookie Dough banked $372,500 on the season. The Arindel homebred was named the 2018 Florida-bred champion 2-year-old filly. The historic operation was also so honored in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014. Only the late Harry T. Mangurian Jr. has to date claimed the title more times with six designations. Ocala Stud was the 2018 leading Florida breeder by Floridabred earnings with $3,208,465. On the season, Ocala Stud was represented by six Florida-bred blacktype stakes winners, including Grade 1 stakes winner Patternrecognition. Rounding out the Ocala Stud-bred stable of 2018 stakes winners were Broadway Run, Florida Fuego, Forevamo, Lovesick and Calculator. Except for Forevamo, the Ocala Stud-bred stakes winners are by stallions who stand or have stood at Ocala Stud. Patternrecognition, Florida Fuego and Lovesick are all out of Ocala Stud-bred Almost a Valentine, by Ocala Stud stallion High Cotton. Patternrecognition and Lovesick are full siblings by Ocala Stud stallion Adios Charlie. Ocala Stud sold all of the stakes winners as 2-year-olds in training at Ocala Breeders' Sales Company juvenile vendues. Raced by Brittlyn Stable Inc. and trained by Steve Asmussen, Forevamo earned $141,095 on the season. He was sold by Ocala Stud for $320,000 to LEB at the 2015 OBS April juvenile sale. Lovesick, a 2016 bay filly by Adios Charlie out of the High Cotton mare Almost a Valentine, won the Juvenile Fillies Sprint Stakes on Nov. 10 at Gulfstream Park. Owned by eFive Racing Thoroughbreds and trained by David Fawkes, she banked $96,105 on the year. Sold for $80,000 by Ocala Stud at the 2018 OBS April juvenile sale, Lovesick was bought by Mike Ryan, agent. Calculator, a 2012 gray/roan horse by In Summation out of the Alphabet Soup mare Back to Basics, captured the listed Clocker's Corner Stakes on Jan. 28 at Santa Anita Park. A graded-stakes winner in 2015, he was also third in the Daytona Stakes (G3) to earn $88,080 for owner Richard Pell. FLO LORIDA THOROUGHBRED CHARITIES is a non-profit organization and the charitable arm of the FTBOA. FTC is committted to strengthening both the industry and community through events raising funds for educational organizations in the communityy, groups that benefit area families, and organizations that benefit the equine industry. The FTC also provides scholarships and supportt to the Florida Thoroughbred Reetirement Farm at the Marion/Lowell Correctional Institutions. The farm provides characterbuilding training for inmates and prepares horses for second careers or adoption. The farm is home to celebrities Carterista and millionaire Shake Yoou Down, both multiple graded-stakes winners, and Hemingway’s Key, third-place finisher in the 2006 Preakness. The Florida farm opened in 2001 and is home to over 40 horses including 2001 Florida Horse of the Yeear Forbidden Apple. The Lowell Facility is the only women’s unit in the nation.
