Membership includes age-appropriate access to the gymnasium, indoor pool, outdoor waterpark, indoor track, fitness floor, chill zone, and discounts on programs, special events, and rentals. The CAC has the following amenities: • Fitness Floor: more than 30 pieces of cardio equipment, 17 Cybex selectorized machines, walking/running track, a Smith machine, an Adaptive Motion Trainer, and big screen TVs. • Gymnasium: wood floor courts for volleyball, basketball, badminton, and pickleball. • Indoor Pool: eleven 25-yard lap lanes, diving board, waterslide, a toddler spray area, and AquaClimb climbing walls. • Outdoor Water Park (seasonal): a zero-entry level activity pool, two large waterslides, lazy river, vortex, water play features, three tot slides, and a 60-gallon dumping bucket. • Tot Drop: designated area for infants and child’s restroom, for children, ages 6 months-9 years. • Chill Zone: air hockey, two pool tables, ping pong, foosball table, gaming stations, wireless internet, and big screen TVs. • Multipurpose Rooms for programming and private rentals. • Online membership renewals and program registrations.

Interested in Sponsoring a Special Event? The Town of Flower Mound Parks and Recreation Department consists of numerous parks, trails, athletic fields, and recreational facilities (Flower Mound Senior Center, Twin Coves Park & Campground, and the Community Activity Center). These amenities, along with Town-sponsored special events, allow residents to take advantage of the many opportunities Flower Mound has to offer. There are many different levels for sponsoring an event that are catered to meet your needs. Fang-tacular Family Campout Experience Flower Mound camping by pitching a tent at Twin Coves Park. Pumpkin patch activities and various family games will be provided along with a catered dinner, breakfast, and late night snacks. Bring a tent, tent decorations, sleeping bags, bug spray, and flashlights. The most creative Halloween-themed tent will win a prize in the tent decorating contest! Price is per family up to 6 people. Cabins and RV sites are available for an additional fee and must be booked separately through Twin Coves Park. Cabin and RV space is limited and must be reserved by Friday, October 9. SPECIAL EVENTS Veterans Day Ceremony A family picnic will be held from 1 - 2 p.m. with free hot dogs, cake, and lemonade. From 2 - 3 p.m., the Town will host a Veterans Day Ceremony, which will include a veterans review where local Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and ROTC units parade in uniform before the veterans. Veterans Day Relay Run
Join the 7th annual Veterans Day Relay Run where veterans and their family members will follow a 32-mile course throughout Flower Mound. Each relay runner will run approximately one to two mile sections, commemorating our nation’s veterans and their service by carrying the American flag. Pumpkin Dive Dive for pumpkins in the CAC indoor pool! Wear a swimsuit and bring a towel. After finding the perfect pumpkin, decorate it in the Party Room. All supplies will be provided. COMMUNITY INSIGHTS TRI-TOWN AMAZING

Come out for the Tri-Town Amazing Race! This year, 12 pit stop challenges will be offered throughout Flower Mound, Highland Village, and Lewisville. Each pit stop will provide physical or mental challenges to encourage team bonding. Recruit family or friends to form a team of 2 to 6 people. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams. Hound Mound Dog Park
The Hound Mound at Heritage Park is the Town’s 5-acre dog park located on the east side of Heritage Park. The park has separate areas for small and large dogs, and amenities include dog agility stations, natural shade, hybrid Bermuda turf, irrigation, seating areas with water fountains, dog rinse stations, trash receptacles, pet waste stations, landscaping, and 40 parking spaces. Plus the park has two large areas that are rotated seasonally to help keep the grass green and reduce muddy areas. The Hound Mound is closed every Wednesday for maintenance. The Flower Mound Parks and Recreation Department maintains several pavilions throughout the Town, including the Heritage Park pavilion. All park pavilions are available to rent for both parties and events. Reservations can be scheduled up to six months in advance, and must be made in person at the Community Activity Center during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.). During these three-day painting workshops, young artists will complete two masterpieces each day with step-by-step guidance from a professional artist. Soccer - Kick the Ball!
Teams of Tomorrow
Teams of Tomorrow is a basketball skills enrichment program focusing on athletics, academics, and agility. TOT has developed a curriculum using fun, age-appropriate music that teaches preschoolers ball handling and dribbling skills. While a basketball is the main tool, preschoolers are also exposed to fine and gross motor skills activities, as well as higher order thinking and listening activities. An additional $35 supply fee is due to the instructor at the beginning of the program for a shirt, ball, prizes, and a trophy. Soccer - Dribble, Kick, Pass!
This Soccer Sparks class is designed to ignite an early passion for the game in young players. This class will encourage greater retention of foundational soccer skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting in a positive environment. Ballet & Tap
These classes develop poise and coordination, while teaching students the fundamentals of ballet and tap. Classes will create group interaction skills and support participant’s self-esteem and positive image. Children will also develop rhythm and music appreciation skills. Please wear a leotard, tights, and bring tap and ballet shoes in a dance bag. Classes are progressive, with a Christmas Splendor Show in December.
NEW! Robot Petting Zoo
Students participate in a "makeathon" to create a robotic pet to delight and inspire visitors to the petting zoo. They construct their pets from familiar materials such as cardboard and craft supplies, and use robotic components and programming to bring their creations to life. Students show their creativity and learn important projectbuilding skills while collaborating with other team members. Homeschool PE is a 90 minute class that allows students to explore many sports in a short time. Each class begins with a dynamic warmup and stretch and then rotate through ability stations and drills. Participants also enjoy fun, classic games like kickball, dodgeball, whiffle ball, and capture the flag, in addition to running a one-mile test and learning body weight strength training. Chess instruction for beginner to intermediate level players, utilizing a year-round curriculum which includes lessons for brand new students, as well as more advanced players. Blue Fin Swim Team Clinics
These clinics will provide technical instruction in all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly) plus starts, turns, and finishes. The primary emphasis will be to learn to swim the strokes properly and efficiently. Some interval training will be offered to maintain an aerobic endurance base. This is an ideal clinic for those planning on swimming competitively in the summer. The last day of registration for all sessions is the Thursday prior to the session start date. Pre-requisites: Ages 6-10 years must be able to swim one length of the pool (25 Yards) unassisted; Ages 11-adult must be able to swim two lengths of the pool unassisted. Water Park Lifeguard Training Course
This American Red Cross course certifies participants in lifeguard training, water park lifeguard training, first aid, and CPR for the professional rescuer. The purpose of this course is to teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies in pools and water parks. Prerequisites are required and will be conducted on the first day of class. Participants unable to complete the prerequisites may request a refund, minus a $50 administrative fee. A lunch break will be provided. There is a required $35 certification fee, payable on the American Red Cross website. Lunch Program The Town of Flower Mound Seniors In Motion program offers lunch for seniors 50 and older. Metroport Meals on Wheels will be providing and serving the food from local restaurants on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Lunch begins at noon and is $4 per person. The Seniors In Motion program serves staff-prepared lunches each Friday for $2 per person. For more information, please call 972.874.6110.

SPECIAL EVENTS OLLI at UNT
OLLI provides lifelong learning programs that foster intellectual stimulation and social engagement through an extensive array of classroom and experiential learning opportunities designed specifically for adults 50 years or better. OLLI at UNT offers courses on Mondays and Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m. taught by university professors that cover topics such as politics, art, history, music, science, and more! In addition to these seminars, OLLI members can attend additional seminars at five locations throughout Denton County, and attend special lectures as well as local trips around the Metroplex. Fall classes will be held virtually via Zoom. What’s even better? SIM members will receive a discounted rate of $75 for an all-inclusive annual rate (normally $140). Sep. 26 • 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. • FMHS • 3411 Peters Colony Road Trash Off begins at 8:30 a.m. & Recycling begins at 10 a.m. Join KFMB for a morning of cleaning, recycling, and fun, sponsored by CornerStone Staffing. The cleanup will be at various parks, trails, waterways, and roadways in Flower Mound. There will be giveaways, door prizes, and prizes for most trash and recyclables collected. Recycling opportunities include electronics courtesy of Best Buy; clothing/textiles/housewares courtesy of Recycle2Support; document/paper shredding; pens, markers, mechanical pencils, old razors, blades, and packaging. KFMB will also collect children’s books, eye glasses, and wire hangers. There will be a native plant sale during the recycling event, too. KFMB will be implementing social distancing policies to keep volunteers safe. Check the KFMB website and Facebook page before the event for updates or new events.
Individual, Group, & Monthly Cleanups
Join KFMB on the third Saturday of each month from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. for a local trash cleanup, beautification project, or Lend-AHand Project. Need to complete National Honor Society Hours or Community Service Hours, but can’t make it to the monthly cleanups? Have a group looking for a volunteer opportunity? KFMB has a program that allows you to volunteer according to your schedule, with the ability to track your service hours through texting and online reporting for verification.
Bags to Benches Initiative
KFMB is collecting plastic shopping bags and plastic film to recycle. Bins are located at the Community Activity Center, the Library, and Senior Center. KFMB will recieve a park bench if 500 pounds of plastic bags and film are collected in six months.
KFMB Volunteers Really Add Up
In 2019, KFMB volunteers completed over 5,000 service hours and collected over 40,000 pounds of trash! The hours also include AdoptA-Spot, Beautification, & Lend-A-Hand projects. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated! If you’d like to join KFMB, service opportunities are detailed on the KFMB website.

The Lend-A-Hand program includes work days throughout the year as the needs arise and funding is available. Please contact KFMB if you know of someone that needs help or would like to serve on the Lend-A-Hand committee.

Packets can be picked up prior to the race from the Community Activity Center, 1200 Gerault Road, Flower Mound, TX 75028, at the following times. November 12, 2 – 10 p.m. November 13, 5 a.m. – 9 p.m. Packets can also be picked up at the event site the morning of the race.
Benefits Help the Town commemorate Dorothy’s battle with MS by participating in the annual Dorothy’s Dash 5K race and Kid’s K. On November 16, 2004, former Town of Flower Mound employee Dorothy Walkup lost her battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Net proceeds will benefit the Texas Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Dorothy’s honor.
Categories/Awards Awards will be given to the male and female winners as well as the first three finishers in each age category. All Kid’s K participants will receive a medal. There will be no duplication of awards. 5K Categories: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
